| The poor girl. I am very glad she's going to be okay. What a scary situation. The dog was kept on a chain.... I'm sure the dog was never socialized, treated properly, trained or anything. What a terrible situation. I wish dog owners would step up to the plate and be responsible with ANY dog, but especially strong breeds, to avoid situations such as this.

| This makes me sick to my stomach but until the owners are punished for their dogs actions i am afraid it is not going to stop.

| Girl loses part of arm in dog attacksShareThisPrint E-mail .By Alexis Stevens The Atlanta Journal-Constitution During the past week, 8-year-old Erin Ingram has endured five surgeries and the amputation of part of her arm. .The third-grader was attacked by two dogs while playing in the yard of her family's DeKalb County home on March 9. Tuesday evening, the dogs' owner, Twyann Artrell Vaughn, turned herself into DeKalb police and was arrested. Vaughn has been charged with reckless conduct, a misdemeanor. Her bond has been set at $5,000. Erin faces a long road to recovery, and her family says she's not out of danger yet. "We continue to try to stay strong for her," her mother, Tawonna Ingram told the AJC. "We’re praying every day that she continues to have good days." Erin was attacked by an American Staffordshire Terrier and another mixed breed dog in her front yard, police said. The first officer on the scene shot and killed one of the animals, and the other was later euthanized. Ingram's family has retained an attorney, but has no immediate plans for legal action, attorney Kevin Adamson told the AJC. "They are more concerned that justice is served," Adamson said. For now, the family is focusing on Erin's recovery, Adamson said. Erin is in stable, but critical condition, he said

| This is such an awful story and unfortunatly it will not be the last time we hear about dogs attacking people. Dog owners should absolutely be held responsible for the actions of their pets. Training a dog to to attack or to fight to kill is abuse. Some owners even inject their dogs with drugs to make them wild, commonly drug dealers. I have owned german shepards and understand accidents, vicious behavior and the dog just not understanding it's size and stregth. I always took full responsibility for their behavior. I knew and understood their limits and personalitys as I trained them. Look what wonderful animals "we" created in police dogs, therapy and service dogs. We are responsible.
