| Bank robber near my kids school!! Ok now I'm a little nervous. I just got a call from my kids High School and they said the school is on "lock down" because there was a bank robbery around the corner. All doors windows are locked and no one gets in or out until the police find the suspect. They caught 1 guy but the other is still on the loose. I have 2 daughters there one a senior and one a freshman. I'm a little freaking out. They locked down all the schools in the district. My little guy (10) is in an elementary school but it is not close to the High School. But he was supposed to go the the middle school today to watch a play. I don't know if they went. I'm, shaking. I called my friend whose son is also a senior in the High School wasn't even fazed. She said oh well they'll be fine. I just called the elementary school as I was writing this and the secretary told me that the little ones went to the middle school. They were escorted by security. But as I said they are quite a ways from the High School. I hope they catch this guy soon and he didn't decide to run towards the school.

| I would be scared too. At least they had the sense to lock down....I am sure the kids will be safe that way. Hope they find the guy soon. Maybe the other guy will tell all. Keep us posted! Angie |

| That's actually a GOOD thing to hear! It means that the security procedures for your school are in place and they are on the ball. Good news! I wouldn't call up there. They need the phone lines open. Just let them handle it. You'll get a call when it's over, or the news will announce that it's "all clear". I know you're worried. Any good mom would be. Just turn on your local news and keep your phone close by. Hugs!

| I'm just getting home from work and seeing this. I am the office manager of an elementary school and just wanted to help reassure you that hearing of your children's school being on a lock down is actually good news. I can say from over 20 years experience, our children's safety is one of the schools top priority concerns. Children are in school daily to learn but they also need to be safe and parents need to feel that they are safe during the day while in school. As far as I know all schools have in effect a safe school plan which are there for the protection of the children. I am glad to hear that your kids are home safe n sound
