| Whew! What a week! I haven't been on much because we have been super busy! I'm telling ya'll I have been DYING for some rest and some YT time. Wednesday we had an issue with son and a teacher at school. I hate that because I never know how to handle those situations. I believe my son because I know him well enough to know when he's lying (believe me, it is obvious), but at the same time I didn't want to come out and accuse the teacher of anything and make her mad so she takes out on him during class (I've heard she has favorites and if she doesn't like the parents she makes things tough for the kids). So I had all that to deal with. Thursday and Friday I was busy running all over hell and half of Georgia for various reasons. Saturday was our town's annual Fair on the Square and I handle the Humane Society booth for a little while and then enjoyed some time with the kids. Ellie (eldest dd) has a boyfriend now so he met us up there and we let them walk around together (and it only took us "accidently" bumping into them 5 times for her to finally figure out we were doing it on purpose lol) Sunday I played catch up on housework and laundry, then got a phone call about a kind of rescue/more like rehome and would I possibly have room for it. Naturally I said yes so we went and picked up Mischka, a Nanday Conure. I spent Sunday night and all of yesterday on the bird forum because Mischka has a plucking issue. Thankfully I am almost possitive it is due to a poor diet and boredom so I'll be able to get that under control fairly quickly. Today I got the kids off to school then fell back into bed and slept until 1:00 pm! It felt good although now I probably won't sleep good tonight. So how's everyone else's week been? I've missed everyone!

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Oh, girl - you have SUCH a big heart - I JUST love that about you. What is a plucking issue - does that mean she pulls out her own feathers, poor baby? Well, let's see - Monday, right at the foot of the trailhead, I came across 2 stray dogs. Luckily the park ranger was there - so she and I were able to coax them to us (which is a MIRACLE here, bc there are so many "yard dogs" in this area). They were SO sweet. I always keep dog food in my car, but only one of them would eat it. I was petting the shepard-type doggy (medium hair) and thought I felt a skin-tag - went to look and it was a TICK the size of a jelly bean. I then felt ALL kinds of crap all over her skin. I almost started to cry, I was so heartsick for her. Me and the ranger-gal got both dogs into her truck and she said she'd take good care of them. I went hiking and think I had tears in my eyes the whole way. Strays just break my heart. Today, I have PMS and I just want to lift my leg and PEE on this day, I'm so over it. I'm just so irritable it's ridiculous and deplorable, really. Clearly, I need chocolate. So that's all I got: a heavy heart, complaints, and chocolate cravings!!!

| Yes, a plucking issue means she pulls out her own feathers. Birds will often do that for several reasons: medical, nutritional, emotional, etc. In her case I am fairly confident that it is nutritional and emotional along with plain out boredom. Nothing that can't be fixed with good food and lots of love. That is so sad about the poor puppies. It breaks my heart too. PMS stinks! Since my hysterectomy I've felt like I'm in a permanent state of PMS. Finding the right hormone replacement is not an easy task. I say go buy a bag of Hershey kisses, put your feet up, and take it easy the rest of the night!

| Wow... slow board huh? Your week did sound super crazy! My life has turned that way also lately. I am either IN or going to 4 wedding this fall. One happened 2 weeks ago and another is this weekend! Im wedding broke. So in the last 10 days its been one thing after another. Bfs birthday, school, dress fittings, bachelorette party, study, work, laundry, etc. I actually took sunday off this past weekend and did nothing! Ate a big late breakfast with bf. Watched football in jammies... but then we had to go up to his house to close the pool, that was sad
