| Crazy Sunday weather in Ohio! What a wild Sunday we had in Ohio! We had winds up to 75mph, power was knocked out for about 90% of all residents in Cincinnati and three people killed by falling trees! In our neighborhood we have alot of houses with roof, gutter and siding damage. One house had a tree fall on it! Thank goodness, we were lucky and only had damage to tree limbs and nothing major. I can imagine how terrifying it must have been for people in Texas with the hurricane, because the aftermath with the winds here was scary enough! Our power came back on after 4 hours, but for some it could take up to 3-4 days. Most of the schools are closed today and quite a few roads are closed! Our babies were a nervous wreck yesterday! The winds never let up for about 5-6 hrs. I hope everyone in Texas and everywhere else is doing ok!!

Therapy Dog Donating Member | Reese1 same here up in Cleveland...rain and high winds like you guys had..the remnants of Ike. Izzy goes outside potty and I had to watch her carefully so she didn't get blown over. We were lucky we hav electricity but the people across from us and surrounding areas lost theirs at 6pm last night and as of 6:36am this morning still no power. Our side of the street is on a different power grid. It's finally calm with the wind at 18 miles now. Man I was worried at 50-75 mile winds and I don't know how our YT peeps that get hurricanes do it.

We had to put a leash on Camden who goes potty outside, I wasn't taking any chances! Sounds like you were about 5hrs behind Cincinnati getting it! The winds are calm here now, but there are still hundreds of thousands of people without power and they are still saying days! I'm at my office now and we are operating on generators! I'm glad you have power and are ok!

It's so scary isnt it ? ....3 people killed ...that's awful .....I heard the storm was causing more damage but didn't know the winds were that strong And you're so right - it IS terrifying. I still can't believe how bad this hurricane was even though we could SEE how huge it was. I hope we don't see a bad hurricane like this for a long time to come. My whole city is still without power. I don't even know how I got so lucky cause I'm right in the middle of the grid that has NOTHING (which is most all of Houston) I'm glad you're ok.

YT 2000 Club Member | Same here yesterday, trees and power lines down everywhere, loss of power, wind like I couldn't believe. Nothing like my brother got down in LA but enough to make me know I'll never move anywhere that has hurricanes! Here's a video I shot yesterday here at our house.

| Oh we had it too.. it was crazy! No rain here.. just WIND from about 7-10pm. Trees and limbs down everywhere. Schools are cancelled today. No power till 4am last night. Our cable is still out.. I know what I'll be doing today picking up limbs out of the yard.

Now they are saying four people have died. What's really tragic, two of those who died were on motocycles and they were riding in a fundraiser event to raise money for military families in Iraq! They were killed in a state park when a tree fell on them. So awful. From Louisville to Cincinnati, they are now saying over a million without power. In some places they are now saying it could be a week before it's restored. I lived in Florida in high school and we weathered a few hurricanes and I do remember them. Usually in Ohio, we are dealing with tornadoes which are terrifying as well!

The tough thing is, our energy company had sent alot of volunteer crews to Texas to help with the hurricane and now they are calling them back to help restore power here!

| I know I am glad it didnt get too bad in our area. I am sorry it did in yours. That wind was different though and you could sure tell it was hurricane wind. We did have a downed power line in our neighbrhood.
