we are in ne ohio close to pa.... and the wind was strong for like 4-6 hours.. but we got the humidity for 3 days.. we only felt the edge of it with no rain.. trees down limbs down and leaves everywhere.. we were the lucky ones this time..there is a huge limb in my yard.. but it fell in a good spot.. IKE was a monster storm.. so sorry for those who lost so much..
the worst is the flooding all over the place... i hope they have flood insurance

I hope everyone had flood insurance too! I'm grateful we didn't get the rain like they predicted. That is the weird thing, we were supposed to get rain, not the windstorm!

We had the same craziness here in Pittsburgh I have tree branches in my back yard and the people across the street had one of their big trees uprooted. There is still power outages and trees down all over the place. Carlos wanted to go outside with us but I had to tell him that he would end up like toto in the Wizard of Oz.

LOL, that's exactly what we were saying to Camden when we put her leash on, "you don't want to be carried away like Toto"

Still 500,000+ without power here in Cincinnati as of this afternoon!
They are bringing in additional crews from North Carolina to help.
They are hoping to more power turned on within 24-48 hours from now, but some will take until the weekend!

But man this was enough for me. Lots of people thought we was having a
hurricane thats how strong the winds were here.

How are you all in Ohio ? Are they getting power back on ??

I just saw on the news that you all got hit really hard - this hurricane traveled a long way

I can't believe it went all the way to Ohio -

It was really scary, wasn't it!
At times I thought part of our house was going to blow away, it was so loud and unlike a tornado (that we are more used to having in the mid-west) that lasts for minutes, it just went on for hours and hours!

I can't believe it went all the way to Ohio -

I think the number is still hovering around 500,000 without power!

Isn't it just so strange how far a storm can travel! I've just never known Ohio to experience anything quite like this!
Most of the schools will be closed tomorrow and maybe longer.
Tons of businesses are closed, gas stations.
So many street lights are out and I'm sure there is quite an increase in traffic accidents with people not stopping!
Ice is getting harder to find at the stores with everyone trying to save food from their fridge and freezers!
The weird thing is my county had the highest wind gusts, but we have our power back. I don't have one other friend, family member or co-worker who has power at all!

I hear you ...I'm the only one too except for one friend that has power - it's around 1.7 million here without. It makes you feel guilty doesn't it ?

it's just spooky seeing everything closed. The only time you see it like this is Christmas Day and this is so NOT Christmas

Good luck to you guys in Ohio ...heck - good luck everywhere - I hope this country doesn't see another disaster for a long long time.

It was crazy yesterday! I cannot believe how hard the wind could blow and not have rain. Our power was off for 24 hours. We have trees down and neighbor's roof blew off. (See picture) Anyway, hope everyone is okay.

We got our Power back on. I thought it would take days. YAY!!! Im so happy to have it back. it was going on and off awhile ago. but now it seems to be back for good. I hope. My daughter said I could use her computer , so thats what i'm going to do until I get mine replaced. Man that sux that I lost it. I paid alot of money for that one. This is the 2nd time I have lost a computer because of power outage. even having a surge protecter did not help. Oh well Im back. DH out side picking up the yard. what a mess. we have to have the whole back side of our house fixed. and a few places in the front. and my poor trees. But we are all safe, thats all that matters

work places and schools are still closed. The streets and roads are a mess. trees fell on top peoples houses. We have 5 acres to clean up. its going to take a long time.
