| Just a wierd question I have a nine year old daughter (who might as well be 16) and I was just wondering if when your daughters started "maturing" physically did any of you get depressed? To me she's still a baby...but now I'm having to let her grow up and I am having a hard time doing it. She's just so young!!!

| My mom went through a weird phase when I started to "mature" physically, especially when my aunt started visiting

| My oldest daughter (Des) was born 30. When she hit 1 1/2 she was talking in full sentences. Compeletly potty trained soon after that. By the time her brother came she was almost 3 and she thought she was the mommy. And when her sister came,,, for get it. She was only 6 but she so in awe with her baby sister. She fed her, she changed her, she even helped with giving her baths. She would even get up in the middle of the night to pat her baby sisters back and sing to put her back to sleep. It really didn't get to me all that much when she hit that "mature" age. Now my baby is that age (9) and there is tiny little signs of her needing a training bra. And both me and Des are not handling it very well at all. She still is a mommy's girl. I don't think anything will ever change that. But seeing her change physically is really hard!!! Des is always asking me,,, "Mom, why did she have to go and grow up?" We don't like it one bit!!!

| my oldest daughter is 10 and i am going through this right now she is maturing very fast she already started her menstration. but i always keep our lines open for anything and everything i still treat her like she's 10 and i always remind her that just because she's maturing it does not mean that she is mature. i always maintain her wordrobe and so forth because in this day and age 10 is 16 and i want my girls to act their age and they know mommy means buisness when it comes to this. but i am okay with it, i think me still treating her like she's 10 and keeping her at her age is helping me alot.

| i would have had an 8 year old but i miscarried. i dont know if it was all the stress or if it was just not meant to be. but you must be a good mommy cause you didnt quit scool or work. good job, you never gave up. most girls would have given up at your age and let mommy baby them and take care of all their bills. good for you.

try being raised by your dad and having your aunt visit for the first time. Boy was that fun. I can remember it like it was yesterday to be honest. X-mas day when I was 12. Great gift I got. Half the gifts were broken cause when I told my dad that "IT" came he threw everything in the truck along with me and my brothers and drove like and Indy car driver to my grammas house. He was not going to have to deal with that. But joke was on him cause my gramma made him go to the store to get me the stuff I needed. HAHA | |

| My daughter (Hannah) went trough chemo for almost 3 years when she was 3 and from the day that started she started to grow up. I couldn't believe how grown up she seemed. She would say or do something that would catch us off guard. Her attitude was always better than mine. If it weren't for her good spirits I don't think I ever would have made it through all of that. I'm positive that the whole situation has taken part of her childhood away from her. She was on some medication that I thought might have caused all this to set in so early, but maybe it's just time. (I was blaming the meds then I could feel better and she wasn't just growing up because she's not my little girl anymore.) My husband doesn't even want to think about her growing up. He says that means boys and he ISN'T going to have that any time soon. We'll see.

| My daughter will be 5 next month and I think about how fast they grow up and before you know it POOF they're teenagers! I think I'll be sad when she gets older and doesn't need me as much.

| I matured very early, at nine i was in bras and had my period! Boy, was daddy mad! The pediatrician told mom when I was 8 that I would start and need a bra really soon, dad got so mad that he made her switch doctors - said 'he doesn't know what he's talking about, she's only a baby!' I don't have a little girl, just a grown son. But they do grow up fast and those few years between being children and being adults are the hardest ones for parents. It's hard to find the balance and harder still to start letting go and learning how to trust them as they find their way in this great big world. You are in my prayers!
