| im so upset i need to vent! i feel terrible...my yorkie has been sick off and on since i got her...i got her way to young ( i had no idea that i shouldnt of gotten her so young but now i know and ive learned my lesson!) i got her at 8 weeks....i wish the person who sold it to me would've said something but i should have done my homework...anyway im upset. shes been sick with diarrhea and vomiting off and on since i got her....so ive had to take her to the vet many times...she gets sick...gets better....then gets sick again! well 2 days ago she was fine...running around and eating and everything....then a few hours later throws up and it all goes down hill.....so yesterday morning i take her to the vet and they tell me i have to wait till monday to know for sure but they are almost certain its giardia.....and they did a parvo test which thankfully was negative!! so he injects her with fluids because she was dehydrated.....and he gives me a mixture of albon and flagyl suspension.....the thing is after i bring her home from the vet up until now she just lays in bed sick....and when she does walk she kind of falls on her face....and i have to force feed her....and i dont mind taking care of the puppy i love her already but i just dont know what to do along the way to help comfort her and help her feel a little better through recovery... on top of all this she suffers from hypoglycemia! im just terrified shes not going to make it at only 11 weeks old....im upset that shes still sick...but what im most upset about is that i was so stupid and got a dog that wasn't old enough to leave its mother.....and im mad at the idiot who sold her to me! i know this all sounds like gibberish but i need to vent so hopefully someone can understand what i wrote and can message me even if its to tell me how dumb i am....i hope jozy makes it because i really do care about her and want her around for a long time! |

| Honey, post this in the "sick" section. Someone there may be able to help you. Just remember that many of us here on YT have had problems with our Yorkies because we didn't have knowledge. Just think how much you have learned. I've made sooo many mistakes. I just hope that I have learned enough from YT to not repeat my mistakes. Joanne

| I feel so sorry for your puppy, Maybe if you got her from a breeder you might want to discuss this with her and avoid spreading illness. Giardia is a protozoan parasite that lives in the intestine of affected animals. It is unclear whether there are several species of this parasite or whether there is one species that affect several different animals, including people. Clinical signs of giardia include weight loss, inability to gain weight appropriately during growth, diarrhea, vomiting, lack of appetite and greasy appearing stools.

| Honey, your not dumb. You sound like a very caring and loving Mommy. I promise you, that as she gets older and puts on some weight, you won't have to worry about the Hypo attacks. BUT you do have a few very critical weeks ahead of you. You need to make sure she takes her meds for the parasites. You need to make sure her sugar levels are up and you need to get her to eat. After a few more weeks of being a Nurse, you can just be a Mom. Have you gotten her to eat anything yet consistently? This is mine concern. And her water intake as well. You probably need to be forcing Pedialite - with a syringe, as much as you can. We are here for you, ask us anything and vent away. I promise you when Jozy is better, you'll be so relieved and soooooooooooooo happy to have her as your baby |

| Poor baby. I know how concerned you are. Until they see her again it is so important not to let her blood sugar fall. If you don't have Entracal give her some kayro syrup. Sometimes even getting their blood sugar up helps them to eat. Hope she gets better real soon. |

| She falls on her face when she walks? Does she ever shake even after you give her something for hypoglycemia or run into things?

| awww Im so sorry to hear about your babys health problems. I know that 8 weeks is a bit early for your baby to leave mama, but it used to be that way all the time, pups would go to homes between 6 - 8 weeks very often. Its really not your fault. 8 weeks is young, but not sooo young that the pups life is in danger. Please don't blame yourself. A lot of pups lately have had diarrhea and throwing up. I just went through it with BOTH of mine about 3 weeks apart from each other. I hope everything works out for you and she gets well quickly! I know how heartbreaking and stressful it is to be worried about your sick pup for so long. Hang in there!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I feel so bad for you. I have been there with my dogs. I got Cali at 9 weeks and she was sick every week for awhile. The main thing I found with Cali is that I had to get her to eat every 2-3 hours day and night no matter what I had to feed her. I would feed her Cesars a junk dog food and hamburger what ever I needed to to get her to eat otherwise she went hypoglycemic. If it is giardi they can clear that up it just takes some time. I will keep ypu both in my prayers.
