| Healthy meals Could anyone share some fast kid friendly lunch ideas that are healthy? My son is starting to get a little picky, he is 16 months. He loves McDonald's nuggets & fries, hot dogs, pizza, and spaghetti (any pasta for that matter). I guess he likes grilled cheese as well. I want him to start eating better. He use to love his veggies but now picks at them and says uck! I'm trying to think of some healthy meals I can fix that he might like. Any ideas?

| How about trying a lower fat cheese and wheat bread (for grilled cheese) or offering some lite or fat free dressing for dipping his veggies. That might get him to eat it. I make my own nuggets for the kids, I back them in the oven and they are really good. Of course the Mcdonalds would be better but they are not given that choice. You could also give him some yogurt. Thats good for him and tasty

| My son will only eat cheese if it's warm, it's weird. I fixed him a cold turkey and cheese today and he wouldn't eat it. If it's grilled he gobbles it all down. Same with bologna.

| Most kids don't ever have to worry about their weight but that is not the case w/my two. They would put weight on very easy if we allowed them to. I never deprive them of the things kids want (there kids and they should be aloud to eat the things kids love) but I do try to make everything I give them lower in fat then you would have to. I hardly ever fry anything, I always use low fat or fat free cheese. I give them the 100 calorie snacks (there are so many options w/those) and soda is only for restaurants. MY son w/not eat much in the veggie deptartment either but what he will eat I offer often. My daughter will eat almost anything. Just try and give him things in moderation, Mcdonalds is okay but just not all the time. We have a free night............you get whatever you want. For us its tonight because we have a very busy after school schedule so my son will pick Mozzeralla Sticks (He always does!) But they are really good the rest of the week. Walk around your grocery store, you will get great ideas! Good luck and let us know how you do

| What about low fat ranch dressing and carrots? I have no idea how many calories low fat ranch dressing has, but I'm sure it's better than french fries, chips, etc.
