| Most kids don't ever have to worry about their weight but that is not the case w/my two. They would put weight on very easy if we allowed them to. I never deprive them of the things kids want (there kids and they should be aloud to eat the things kids love) but I do try to make everything I give them lower in fat then you would have to.
I hardly ever fry anything, I always use low fat or fat free cheese. I give them the 100 calorie snacks (there are so many options w/those) and soda is only for restaurants.
MY son w/not eat much in the veggie deptartment either but what he will eat I offer often. My daughter will eat almost anything.
Just try and give him things in moderation, Mcdonalds is okay but just not all the time. We have a free night............you get whatever you want. For us its tonight because we have a very busy after school schedule so my son will pick Mozzeralla Sticks (He always does! )
But they are really good the rest of the week.
Walk around your grocery store, you will get great ideas!
Good luck and let us know how you do |
