How about trying a lower fat cheese and wheat bread (for grilled cheese) or offering some lite or fat free dressing for dipping his veggies. That might get him to eat it.
I make my own nuggets for the kids, I back them in the oven and they are really good. Of course the Mcdonalds would be better but they are not given that choice.
You could also give him some yogurt. Thats good for him and tasty
