Donating YT 11K Club Member | I think it should be white. That's what ive heard, if you paint it dark it will make the room look smaller.

| I would keep it white like the trim. I just painted my bathroom a dark color and left the trim & ceiling white. It looks really nice.

| I painted our bedroom a metallic gold believe it or not. I did the ceiling as well, took me three days to do the ceiling alone. I do have white crown molding, it looks really great. But with a dark color, I would probably paint it a light color...

No Longer a Member | If the trim in the room is white, I'd go with that. I had my bedroom have one deep red wall, and the rest of the walls were really hard to find a light color that went well with the red. The "cream" color that I had painted other areas of the house, and loved, looked very grey next to the red. Finally, I came up with a color that looks like melted french vanilla ice cream (which I mixed from two different colors I tried) and this eventually became the color I painted all my other rooms. So if you're going with another color alltogether, it may take a few tries of actuall putting some paint on the walls--this is what I had to do--to find the right one. Good luck! PS. Janell, that metallic gold sounds awesome. I"m going to be re-doing my family room, and I'm looking for a gold color. I definitely want to do metallic in the powder room next to it. I may hit you up later with questions about how you didd yours! Last edited by mistyinca; 11-20-2007 at 10:46 AM. |

| I think I'd like it white to set off the dark walls.
