It happened to me once, i didn't let it happen but the manager did try Anyway besides my own experience idk what the other paragraphs should be about. ugh i really don't feel like writing this paper but i have to.

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | I wouldn't defend the guy's perspective, because, as you know, we're all pigs, but your paper shouldn't ignore it. As it has been explained to me, it's sexual harassment if a woman perceives it to be sexual harassment. So if one guy goes up to a woman and makes a welcome advance or joke, no problem. But if another guy does the same thing and it's not welcome, it's sexual harassment. I realize I'm oversimplifying, but after years of being allowed to abuse our roles, we find ourselves struggling with the rules.

| Is sexual orientation harrassment the same thing? Or does that fall into the category of racial harrassment? There is the old adage that women are to blame because they "dressed to provacatively" and had it coming to them. Which was an easy scapegoat for the men. Nowadays the work dynamic has changed with more women in the workforce, so sexual harrassment could also be towards the men.

| What would you like to know? I have seen guys in my workplace (the navy) looking at pictures from a sports day we had, making comments about a girl that is in our command. With me standing RIGHT behind him. She was wearing shorts and a t-shirt! Nothing that one would be 'worked up over'. If you want a full account of things said, pleas feel free to PM me. I don't think those comments are appropriate for YT.

| What about the legal issues of sexual harrassment...I suppose that is not really a social thing, but here is a curious observation...I am a civil defense attorney, I have increasingly been handling employment claims, and I always get picked to go to settlement conferances, deps., etc for the sexual harrassers because I am a lady and apparently it is more convincing when I defend the conduct...Hmmm...

| I heard an interesting comment once about SH in the workplace, can't remember who said it though It was something along the lines of "It's only sexual harrassment if the guy is ugly" or something like that That could be an angle that would make your paper unique, how SH is perceived, depending on the "offenders" attractiveness or lack thereof. Good luck with your paper!
