| Curly Hair??? Hi everyone!! I am a new Yorkie "Mom" and new to YorkieTalk. I received Meeko in August 2004 and since then I've been trying to obtain the most information I can about the breed. Everyone that sees him thinks he is adorable, but say his hair is too curly. I also have Molly (also a Yorkie) and her hair is totally straight. I am still trying to find products for my furbabies hair. Do you guys have any suggestions in what to use to care for my babies coat??? Thanks a bunch!!!

| Is there a chance he might be a Yorkiepoo? I've never seen a Yorkie with curly hair unless it was a Yorkiepoo puppy. My breeder told me that Lambert Kay's shampoo is gentle on the Yorkie and leaves him with a nice coat, plus, the nice smell lasts 3-4 days! You can find it at PetsMart I believe. |

| No, he is not a Yorkiepoo. He is a full bred AKC Registered Yorkie. His hair is wavy/curly. He is 9 months old. I was wondering if it would be possible that maybe that is his baby hair? Molly's hair is super straight. In comparison, Meeko's hair is softer and much shiner than Molly's. I was wondering if anyone had had a yorkie with these traits. As for the conditioner, I try anything. Right now, I use some of my hair glosser with vitamins and minerals. Thanks!!!!

| Curly hair? My littlest guy, Garrett had half curly half straight hair. It was like the front end of him was all yorkie (purebred by the way) and the back half was slightly wavy. On the advice of my groomer, I had Garrett given a puppy cut, I have noticed (its only been 2 weeks) that the back end hair is coming in straighter. I also use Veternarian's Best Skin and Coat conditioner on him due to dandrull (all gone thanks Villette) and I think that it is helping. It is a spary one, laeve on type and it adds gloss to his coat as well. Hope that this is a help. |

| My yorkie's backend is curly too. Idon't know but I have read that some Yorkies have a wooly coat rather than the sleek straight coat so that might be the reason.

| Rambos hair is a little wavy too. Could it be a winter coat? I noticed it was quite course on the parts where it is really wavy and now that summer is coming his hair is starting to get shinier and softer. Also it seems like he has grey roots. Like the parts his hair is dark its like light grey at the roots. Does the coat change colour a lot? He is coming up to his 1st birthday maybe that is why he´s changing???????? Vikki and Rambo |
