| Traveling with your Yorkie on the plane... I am so worried about traveling with my little guy, even though it is maybe a year or so in advance. What happens to your Yorkie if you can't carry him on? He's my family! I'm thinking my Chibi may be too big! He is 4.5 kilos! I was reading Northwest's web-site and they talk about putting your pet with your baggage! Is that as bad as it sounds! Any advice, any airlines you all recommend? It's keeping me up at night, even though our return to the U.S. isn't really soon! Please help! Thank you, lovely Yorkie talkers!

| I hear your concern!! I traveled with Bobbi and he was small enough to fit comfortably under the seat-BUT my toy poodle was not. She did travel with the baggage and was fine-but I was not comfortable with that. They tag the carrier and give you a slip. When you get off to exchange planes or arrive at your destination, your baby will be right out the door of the plane with someone. You have to take the weather into consideration too. I have traveled Delta, Continental and this last time U.S Airways. It was 80 bucks each way in cabin and 100 bucks if they travel with baggage. Good luck!

| I wish I could help you also. Im trying to figure out how to get 2 dogs in 1 carrier to fly on the plane with me so I can go home for the holidays. My dogs together weigh 14lbs and I dont think a carrier in the world weighs only a lb. (15lbs is their weight limit). Ive been told by my mom who traveled with her dog that they never even checked the carry on and she paid for one way and the way home they didnt even check so she didnt even have to pay. I dont know how she got away with that but she did. hhhmmm she has a 12lb shih tzu that she flew with. Id say just call the airline and find out. I guess thats what Im going to have to do also.

| Forgot to add........you CAN ship your furbaby for about 250 but I am not sure where exactly they travel (in vs. under). I did have Bobbi shipped to me when I bought him, but it was a very short flight. I would not ship them cross-country (coast to coast) but that is just my motherly side talking

| Travelling with your Yorkie on a plane... Thanks for your reply! It is so disconcerting...traveling with a little one who can't fly in the cabin! Please someone tell me something that could be comforting! Or do you all have tiny Yorkies that can fly in the cabin?

| Traveling with your Yorkie on the plane... Yeah, he's heavy,(4.5 kilos) but he's one little guy. I'll have to double-check if he can come into the cabin. But if he can't what have been your experiences...Have your little girls and boys been ok?Thanks everyone for easing worries!

I wasn't even allowed to bring in a water bottle (was made to surrender it). I am talking about RECENT travel too not from back in the days when things were different pre-911.

I had to take off my shoes, socks, belts, etc. PLUS, patted down by a female TSA That is why I am so perplexed when I read that some people were not checked.......
