| My Giant Yorkie So my yorkie, Theo, was out on the town with me and I decided to weigh him. Now, he is a bigger guy, not fat, just tall. He weighs 11.5lbs! I love him so much so I would never dream of taking him back, but it is kind of a downer to have every single person comment on how big he is for a yorkie. Any one else able to relate? |

| I've only had 2 yorkies, my 1st Spencer, was also a big boy,at his worst he was about 12 pounds...Then came the prescription diet food. But he was happy all the time!!! Winston, my 2nd, is now 3 years old , and about 7.5#s. One time when I had Spencer out for a walk, a women stopped to ask me about using him to breed her little furbaby, he had a beautiful coat and coloring, but then I told her how much he weighed...NO WAY...oh well...it was probably better. |

| Miko is somewhere between 10 and 11lbs now and every once in awhile people will say that he's kinda big for a yorkie, but we don't care. He is the sweetest dog in the world with the sweetest face. We just love him sooo much and couldn't be happier with him

| lol, well, you can all just tell them that your baby's parents didn't read the standard! If they're a larger Yorkie, and people question it, you could say that they're a passage to the past when back in the day of "Ben", Yorkie's used to be between 10 and 18 pounds. It's not until the 50's I belive that we started breeding them down to the 4-7 pound "preference" of the breed club. |

| Yey! Awww! You guys are really great! You make me feel so much better about my chubby bubby. I was beginning to think that I was the only one that had a pup that tipped the scales. |

| Mine are 6 and 10 lbs and when I was at a festival once a heard one lady say" Yeah shes got the biger kind of yorkies". Jewels the 6 lb one seems really small to me. Chachi is bigger but we like him that size

| The last time I weighed my bigger one she was a little over 8#. She has really long legs, too. If I take her anywhere, people will always say what you guys have heard, "Are you sure she's a purebred?" She is also has a pretty wild personality. Very active and always gettting into trouble. I've noticed on the bigger Yorkies I've seen that their ears are down - my big girl's are down too. So, do ears that lie down and bigger Yorkies always go together? |

| My Rudy is a big boy also. He hasn't been weighed since last October but then he was 10.5 lbs and now we think he's probably at least 12 lbs. He's really been healthy, so we feel very fortunate for that. Rudys ears are standing up and he has long legs. I think someone else said it but I think it's just more to love.
