Donating YT 500 Club Member | This is a great thread! Ozzie is 13.5 pounds and I hear rude comments all the time. I DON'T mind people saying he's big ... that's a fact. I DO mind people either asking if I'm sure or just outright saying he is NOT a full Yorkie. How do they know? Are THEY suddenly in possession of MY AKC registration? |

| Siu Pao is 10 lbs. There were some strangers saying he is big which I don't mind so long they weren't rude it is fine. Even his vet says that he is the biggest Yorkie among his clients lol..

| Buddy is 13.5lbs but I think he is even more now We will find out in May when he goes for his yearly. I, myself, had no idea a Yorkie could get so big! We just have to educate those who don't know. |

| Max is 11lbs and Abbie is 14 lbs and people always ask me if mine are silkies. Both have the floppy years, too. Their size and ears don't matter to me--I just love them to pieces

| Tell them he is rare, you really had to search to find him. Not just everyone can get them to grow that big. But you held out til you found the one you wanted and use special nutritional supplements. Then just beam with the pride you really have for your special boy!

i think it is rude! that is like people that i have heard ask someone if that is her "real" child because it doesn't look like her - skin is a different shade or hair a different texture. | |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I never imagined Yorkies got that big (big as Ozzie and bigger according to YTers!). I guess because I always heard the standard 7 pounds max. What's odd is that our first Yorkie, who never exceeded 7 pounds had the dainty little feet and tiny frame, had floppy ears. Most we could ever usually succeed at was getting one to stand up at a time. Ozzie, however, almost always has ears at attention. Go figure! Whatever size they are though, Yorkies are collectively the most adorable breed ever. I have never seen such a range of features, sizes and personalities among any other dogs. Which, makes them infinitely more human than dog. |
