| Black bleeding through Tan face markings... Hey YTers, I am new here, some of you may have been noticing me posting a little here & there. Anyway, I haven't had my Yorkie, Daisy very long, just a few weeks now. I am new to the Yorkie breed, I have been reading, reading and reading all the information here I come across on the breed. just to have more knowledge. I have noticed that my girl's face markings are changes , it seems by the week, if not quicker. I notice that she has black hairs bleeding through the tan hairs on her face markings...is this unusual? All her other markings are correct, without any bleeding through of black marking except for her front paws, they also have some black bleeding through on the tan. She has very rich tan/gold markings. I , for some reason after joining here on YT, have become very interested and curious as to how her coat will turn out, her colorings, markings, etc. I am sure there is no sure way to know. I wonder if any of you have a furbaby with color bleeding on their markings?? And if you do, or if your furbaby had the bleeding color markings, and is now changed their coat...I wonder if you would be so kind as to post some pictures of them for me to look at, I would love to see your pup pictures, along with their full grown pics, or almost full grown pics. I am just happy my Daisy is healthy, and I love her as if she were my child.....I am just too curious for my own good.

| Are you sure it is not more of a black changing into tan/gold change? The face starts out mostly dark with the tan/gold markings. Then it changes to the entire face being tan/gold. It is normal during the puppy months to see lots of entermingled black and gold as the changes happen. There is a great sticky here about Coats, color, etc. that helps explain it better: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16045

| Oh, & I appreciate anyones response to my curiousity, I also want to add a close up pic of her so you can see what I am referring to. I want to point out that although in her picture, it looks as if she has some white/grayish looking hair mixed in, she actualy does not, that's just my camera's colorings, my camera does not take such great pictures as it used to, since it's about 5 years old now, lol. Her colors are black, with mostly rich tan/gold, and a lighter tan, where it looks white or gray, it is actualy just a lighter tan color. Also...her eyes always turn blue in pictures, they're really brown in real life. I hope I don't sound too confusing! lol

I know there is no real way to know what their coat will turn out to look like, but I am just so curious to have a clue..lol. I guess seeing everyone's grogeous babies here with their different varied coats has just made me realy curious about it, and since everyone seems to know a whole lot about the breed, I just thought maybe someone could clue me in. So, you think she's going to be a silk? I thought so too a little after seeing a few pictures here. Thanks!

No, I don't think I will tape her ears up because she is only a little over 11 weeks old, and I have nticed that every week, her ears are perking up more & more, so I am thinking that they will stand on their own in a month or so. I have heard of other Yorkies ears becoming fully erect by the age of 4 months...so maybe that will be the case with Daisy also.

| you baby is so cute!! I agree that it is probably the gold bleeding throug the black. Maggie has a lot of black "specks" but it is where the black is growing out and the silver and gold is coming in. I am also very curious to know what she will look like I see so many golden yorkies and a lot of silver yorkies...but maggies coat is looking to have both coming in under her puppy coat. So I am very curious about the ears...I saw where someone asked if you are going to tape the ears. If you do...read this thread I posted. It might help...who knows http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...98&postcount=7 good luck and congrats on the new baby! Yorkies are the BEST

But, I did notice the hair on her ears is quite heavy....you might want to shave them on both sides to get the weight off. My yorkies don't leave my house until their ears are up, I usually start taping at 8 weeks, if they aren't up by then. When they do go to their forever homes, I inform their new parents that their ears my go down again, when they begin teething again and taping may be needed again. The one way to tell if your yorkie is silk or soft coated....take a look at her feet does she have an abundance of coat on them, do the look like bedroom slippers.
