| I'm such a BAD MOMMY I am so upset at myself...as most know I just bought a house and moved in on 11/30 well I've been so so busy around the house trying to get things organized that I really didn't have alot of time with my babies. After a few days of moving into the new home I noticed that Timmy's hair around his snout broke and he's got little short hairs now It was all my fault since I didn't have time to pamper and clean them up like I normally do. Another thing I just noticed how spoiled Mimi is...everytime she was tired she would follow me around the house whining..if I was washing dishes she was right at my feet then start to scratch my leg and she would whine. I'm telling you..this girl whines for everything and I know she does it because everytime she starts to cry/whine everyone at home gives her whatever she wants or they start the baby talk thing. All she wants me to do is pick her up...I don't know what to do to get her to stop this because its just getting worse. I literally have to stop what I'm doing to pick her up so she can lay her head on my shoulder. If I don't pick her up she starts to cry and gets louder and louder. Maybe she's acting like this because of the new house?? I don't know...should I ignore her and just give it some time?? I just feel like I'm doing everything wrong....first I let my babies hair break off (still can't get over it) and Mimi is too spoiled. |

| Not sure I can address your specific concerns, however, I CAN commisserate with you on feeling like a bad mommy! As I'm sure just about EVERYONE here can. We ALL get busy or overlook this or that, or make mistakes in training or discipline, etc. WITH OUR SKIN BABIES TOO! That doesn't make you a bad mommy....it just makes you human!

| Maizee does the same thing. If she wants to be held, she will whine and scratch my leg until I pick her up and hold her. I've tried ignoring her, but she doesn't quit. Maybe I'm not holding off long enough. I don't know. I just hate to see her sad Sorry, I can't really help that much, but I know how you feel. |

| Your little girl is spoiled. This always sounds so awful -- but at the same time, it is so easy to spoil these cute little dogs. I have deliberately encouraged my dogs to be independent and not clingy - from the first day I got them. And, they aren't. BUT - (there is always a "but" isn't there?) My Murphy (14 months old is quickly developing a new habit. He is not a barker. Days go by and he never barks. But recently, he has started barking at me (or whinning) when he wants me to play with him. This is a new thing!!!! He will sit on my bed (which I can see from the dining room) or in a big chair across the room from me - with a rag or toy in his mouth and make whatever noise he can with a full mouth enticing me to come and play with him. How can you not play with a little dog that wants to play? But - sometimes, I'm busy and can't. And, fortunately, after a few minutes he gives up and goes on to do something else.....(thank God!) However, other times, I do get right up and go and play my heart out with him. ****** Hate to say this - but I don't think you should give in to your little girl everytime she acts this way - you know this will only make it worse. And - there is also the chance that after you have all been in your new home longer - she'll do less of this. Let's hope this happens. Carol Jean |

| You could try redirecting the response she gets from the whining. If you know she is tired and whining at you, put her in her crate. She will soon get the idea if she whines at you, she will go in her crate. So, she will think twice before whining if she is not ready for that. I say all this with no experience at all -- I am a spoiler and give in to the whines. Now that is a momma with no will power.

| After a move, its quite understandable with all the moving, unpacking, and shuffeling, to slighly neglect our little ones. I haven't moved in 15 years cause of all the work it involves! It takes a lot to get unpacked and settled in a new place. As for making them quit whining, I have no clue. Mine whine a little, but not that much. |

| My Candi whines to be held to and I am a total sucker because I am always holding her. I can't believe I telling this but I bought a baby snuggle thing from babies r us that cradles the baby, it goes over your shoulder and around your neck. That way I can do whatever I need to and still hold her when she wants me to.
