Peeka Boo I See You! Donating Member | Can You Damage Thier Ear Cartiledge??! My mom has a lady at her work who i think breeds yorkies or she has a lot of them (can't remember) but we were concerned about Boo's ears beacause they will not stand and Peeka his litter brother his ears are up like rockets.Well the lady told my mom that she rubbed to hard with her yorkie and she broke the cartalidge in her ears so her dogs ears won't stand up. I was wondering if this is possible? I have shaved his ears 3 times going further down each time and one ear will almost pop but the other just isn't going anywhere. They are 11 weeks old now and peeka's have been up for 2 weeks now i shaved him once and the next day they were up. Any help would be great thanks

| Well sometimes it take some longer to stand up...I had 1 male whos both was flooping, then one day they just popped up, I have them all shaved really close and they are all up now...But 1 girls one time 1 is floopy 1 time I look at her and then the next time it's up! LOL! They will be 12 weeks tomorrow. I don't know about the breaking them?? I'm sure some of the others here will know that answer! | Well, I don't know about the cartilage thing, but as far as getting the ears to stand up, hsve you tried taping them? My Schatzi's ears wer shaved 1/2 way down and were still floppy for a week until I took some masking tape while she was sleeping and taped the ears up... it worked like a charm, and her ears are so adorable and standing straight up now. She was 12 weeks old when I did this.

| I am not sure if it is possible to damage ear cartilage by rubbing too hard but my mom was only cleaning out her dog's ears and she damaged the ear cartilage. So I really don't know the answer. But it does take others longer to stand. You can have several puppies from the same litter and they will all start to stand at different times.

| Wow never heard of any one damaging the ear. 11 weeks is young yet!! I think that you can get them up. I bought my Juicy with ears down and I had them shaved at 13 weeks and they came up!! Good luck!! |

Peeka Boo I See You! Donating Member | His ears are just so floppy compared to Peeka's like one is just limp thats why i was asking if you can break them or if Peeka bit his ear and damaged it?

| 11 weeks is still young. I dont think Chloe had two ears up until about 13 weeks. One i think was up by 11 weeks then the other was still floppy until about 13 weeks. But she looked so darn cute with one up and one down.
