| If it is green and not clear, that means there is an infection. Generally clear means allergies. If she hangs out in the bushes a lot, she probably scratched her eye on a bush. Generally these eye scratches will not clear up on their own in dogs. I would tell her to watch it today and if the green junk is still oozing out of it, then she should take her to the vet this afternoon or in the morning to get some medicine. I think my new puppy scratched Hobbs' eye. He had green stuff coming out of it this weekend. But, the past 2 days it seems to have cleared up. But, I am watching it REAL closely, and if I see anymore green stuff at all, I'm taking him right to the vet. Infections aren't anything to fool around with. Hope she feels better! |

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | anything that's not clear coming out of the eyes is a sign of an infection of some sort. it could be allergy related or since you said she likes to play in the bushes, she might have scratched her cornea. I would advise you to tell your friend to take her to the vet and get it checked out. Are the white of her eyes red too? is her third eyelid protuding?

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I agree ..it's infection - and you may want to check her ears too - sometimes an ear infection can affect the eyes - is she shaking her head ? Any smell to her ears ? I have a cocker that gets chronic ear / eye infections and am always treating one or the other.....Polysporin eye ointment will help with the eyes but she'd need to see a vet for that |

| Green usually means infections.d I'd take her to the vet for a check-up and maybe some anti-biotics or eye ointment.
