anything that's not clear coming out of the eyes is a sign of an infection of some sort. it could be allergy related or since you said she likes to play in the bushes, she might have scratched her cornea. I would advise you to tell your friend to take her to the vet and get it checked out.
Are the white of her eyes red too? is her third eyelid protuding?
