Default thoughts...???

Here is a story I would like to share for some opinions...I don't know how much the breeder Juliet would have charged. She came from a famous breeder in California from what I was told. She was a gift to me and her payment was a cash donation of 10,000.00 to raise money for Hurricane Katrina animal victims which was also donated in my name. She is a blessing and I can't imaging not having her now. (I hear the breeder there gets the big bucks for yorkies too). They thought she was going to get bigger than she turned out. I saw the woman who has her mother Yorkie and I can tell you she wants Juliet after seeing her. No chance but it is nice to know they get mean when they don't get a puppy back...(In a sarcastic way). The woman tried everything from telling me they sold the wrong puppy to actually asking me if I wanted to trade for a 4.5 lb female. I said never and she got hateful and said she could take me to court for having the wrong dog. I just laughed in her face and told her She was not the seller and Juliet was legally mine. She purchased the mother and sister and a brother...all larger. She didn't buy Juliet but claims she had the right to have had her. I don't see how...it is too funny. I didn't actually do the buying but I did meet the seller on the day I got Juliet. A person who works directly for the breeder. (The same person who sold the other woman the rest of the remaining dogs). I even met the woman that day and she commented on how Juliet was going to be bigger than her girl (which was funny considering her girl was larger). I think she wanted to sneak and trade Juliet then. We didn't talk much but she stared at me and kept asking to hold Juliet. I didn't let her. I forgot about her until she called my store looking to visit on day a few months later. When she came to visit me she pulled that about me having the wrong dog...which she said instantly upon seeing her. I am guessing it is because of her previous comment about how she thought Juliet was going to get bigger. Anyway I just wanted to see if anyone else ever had problems with people after buying??? I have several stories, lol. One for each Yorkie. Though the others are worse. I would like to find a good breeder for my 4th baby (my someday boy)!!! The first yorkie breeder I dealt with was a georgia man who was full of Lies!!! He said Lexie was going to stay small. She is my biggest girl now!!! I should have known but I didn't know what to look for then and he knew it. I have since visited his site and found his yorkies look kind of odd. For a long time we were wondering if Lexie was a Silky since her size increased rapidly but after meeting other people with larger yorkies and seeing a few silkies I see she is similar but not one. Anyway the breeder Justin was not an easy person to deal with. I would call him and explain her size was an issue...mainly because my last home only allowed dogs 5lbs and under and he guaranteed she would be under. (Now I know there is no guarantee) Lexie is 1 year old and still growing! and not at all overweight. I have since called and without asking who he was talking to he said he has never been called by a buyer with size complaints...Hello I have called a few times...and to top that off my friends called. He never asked names and gave the same story. We tested that one!!! And there is Romeo which I already explained on another thread about bad breeders. The point is not to complain here though as much as it is to see other breeder experiences. I have since learned my lessons. The thing is I don't really care about the size or look of my yorkies...They could be bigger and bald for all I care...the real thing is many breeders are scamming people. Saying their puppies will stay small or look a certain way...making guarantees they can't honestly make to people who don't know better. I would never give them the dogs back!!! I would however like honesty. If they think the yorkie is going to get bigger they could say it! I know plenty of people who want bigger yorkies due to having kids or having the fears of stepping on smaller ones. When you tell someone you are looking for a certain size they can say well the parents are smaller so you might try this one but you always run a risk of having a larger baby unless you purchase one over 4 months old. See I knew Juliet was going to stay small (granted not this small) but at 4 months she weighed under 1 lb, so she was not going to be a big doggie full grown.
Well enough venting...I am sorry...it is just after going through the scare with Juliet I found it stressing that the woman would get so hateful with me and I guess i needed to talk about it some. So...if you are still reading this thanks for letting me vent some...lol

Good luck on your search for your next breeder. There ARE good breeders out there. But there are truly some scary breeders out there as well I can't believe Juliet's breeder would try to pull that on you, that's just sad and dishonorable to act like that and do those things!

Your royal titles for your Yorkies are very cute, Lady Juliet Capulet is a beauty!

I am so sorry you have had so many bad experiences. You are right though. People should not make ANY guarantees about a dog's weight. I have seen websites claiming their dogs will stay 2-4 lbs. I have seen puppies grow BIGGER than both of their parents. It is because of throwbacks, it's as unpredictable as guessing what a human child's weight is going to be when they grow up. People shouldn't make guarantees that they can't back up. That tends to be a verbal agreement or on a website, but RARELY seen in a contract if ever.
I think you are doing the right thing by coming here and asking for recommendations. And if breeders claim up and down that their dogs will ABSOLUTELY be a certain weight, as them to put it in the contract with a discount back if it does go over the 7 lbs. See how quickly they quiet down and suddenly aren't sure.
I am glad that you have an adorable baby out of all this. She must be REALLY something since that lady won't back off of you!

That women is "disturbed". ..I would avoid all contact with her...even if you have to scare her and get a restraining order...

Animal Smiley 019 I'm still looking for a male yorkie...

I told her I was not interested in dealing with her again!!! I changed my cell phone number and I haven't been working lately due to preparing for going back to College so I have had no more contact with her. I know the size thing is a challenge but sometimes you have to look for smaller doggies. See now I am looking for a male. I am looking for a tiny male who will be 3lbs or under full grown but not for reasons many may think. See Juliet will NOT play with bigger yorkies at all but she is lonely. She will however play with yorkies her size or smaller, lol. I don't want another female because I have 2 and frankly a male doesn't have to be fixed and can be used as a stud someday but a female around Romeo is well like saying come and get it...lol. I would have to have a female fixed around him. With a male I know people who would pay me to have a stud service. I had purchased Romeo for that purpose and to be her playmate because his breeder promised he would stay under 3lbs. and seeing he only weighed 7oz. when I got him I believed he would stay smaller. He is now 5.5 lbs...I think. Juliet won't be around him because he is bigger and rougher with her. I know there are good breeders out there...It has just been my experience to find bad ones. That is why I am looking now through YT for a small not fixed male. I don't have to have a baby. I even considered finding one a little older this time to know he would stay smaller like Juliet. I see sooo many people happy with their purchases when dealing with people or recommendations from other people on here so I decided this was a better route to go! I know I will find my tiny boy. I am more patient now because I know what I am looking for. Somewhere out there is the male equal to Juliet, lol. One who looks like her and is tiny like her so she will be happy with her new buddy. So...If anyone hears about or has a tiny male I would love to know about him!!! Thanks for all of this feed back!

Wow...The lady you are talking about scares me!...I couldn't imagine having to deal with someone like that, I would be afraid to let the poor baby out of my sight with her lurking around....I hope that your next breeder experience is a lot better then the ones you have had. I don't know of any to recommend to you, just wanted to comment on your thread. Good luck with your search, keep us posted.

The size is only important to me for Juliet since she will not play with my bigger yorkies. That is the only reason I want a smaller male. It is not affecting my love for my larger yorkies. Romeo is still tiny at 5.5 lbs. and Lexie is my big baby. Sure I was mad the sellers lied to me about how big they would get but that doesn't change my love for my little furbabies!!! I wouldn't get rid of them because they got bigger than I expected. I did get Romeo because he was supposed to stay under 3lbs. He didn't but he is my baby! I would keep bot him and Lexie if they weighed 100lbs. lol. Though I am a little happy they won't ever get that big. ;-)
It is the lying part that upsets me. The seller of Romeo knew he was younger and that he was at risk because he was not eating foods and I had to bottle feed him for weeks. The seller of Lexie clearly knew she would be bigger than 5lbs. At that time it was important because I had the restrictions of a 5lb dog in my place but now i am in my own home and If I had it to to over I would still pice everyone of these babies all over again! Not because of the breeders because I would never use them again...but rather because I can't imagine not having them with me!!! ;-)

I guess the size thing can have it's risks. I am not looking for someone who breeds tinies...more someone who ends up with a tiny male. Juliet was thought to be a bigger adult and happened to stay tiny. I ahv e seen many people with smaller males who have lived long healthy lives. I want a smaller male for Juliet. As Romeo got bigger she got nervous being around him then as he got even larger than her she shyed away from him. Now she won't olay with him at all (or Lexie). But when we visit or meet with people who have her sized yorkies she plays and has fun. I just don't want her lonely at home. The size doesn't matter to me...it matters to her. And That matters to me. (Her feelings). Thanks for all the advice everyone! ;-)

Love Ur welcome sweety

That is terrible that this women is harrising u. Screw her. There is nothing she can do now. This is ur baby and nothing anyone can say or do will change that, so don't worry. It's funny because when I baught my Daisy thay said that she would actually be bigger than she is now. She is almost 4 pounds, but then again she is only 7 months. Maybe she will get bigger but not as big as I thought she would. Again I am sorry u have to deal with this B.S...Remember don't let it bother u as there is nothing they can do now...
