| to cut or not hair between eyes and nose I groom my Yorkie by myself......I would love the hair between her eyes and nose to grow and fall at the sides so she can see well....but I kept cutting the hair bc they are growing right in front of her eyes.... the rest of her hair is really long..that's the way I like it. Any advice from owners with looooong hair Yorkies????....

| I have the same problem with Ela, her "bangs" are covering up her eyes. The hair in her head doesnt part naturally in the middle. The reason why I don't cut the hair in between her eyes and i keep it long is so that I can put her in beautiful top knots with bows, and it looks lovely. But when she isn't wearing bows No one can see her eyes, it doesnt seem to bother her though. Two weeks ago the groomer asked me if he could "fix her bangs" and by fixing it he meant cut it, I said no. I like her long hair in the head, it gives me plenty of options for hairstyle which she loves.

| Chews hair is thin, but it grows so fast. In between the groomers I trim her eyebrows, (ahem, curlies around her little bootie), and her 'stache. I don't do between the eyes- I've never had that much of an issue. The rest are, though. |

| When Max was a pup and his hair was growing, I had to comb and wet down the hair on the bridge of his nose several times a day. It was a big battle, but eventually the hair stayed out of his eyes.

I couldn't just do it right off of the bat; It took some work. She's stubborn. You'll see a post recently where I was saying how I can't brush her teeth. Not how I want. These little ones become 10 tazmanian devils in a small box if they don't want to do something. | |

| Oliver turns into a ferret when I try to do anything with him. So I gave up. LOL Either my husband or the groomer does what's needed.

| My groomer just told me there is puppy jell (a hair hell) just put on a quip to apply to keep the hairs in place. Going to look for it. She said jell for kids hair would work too. |

| Initially I cut the hairs between the nose and eyes on Scottie. But I wanted it all grown out. Growing it out was very hard. hehe... you just have to get through that awkward period. I think I sometimes used water to keep the hairs out of his eyes. Both of my babies always have their hair tied up in a top knot or braided.

| I cut the hair between Monroe's eyes once (huge mistake) and then had to let it grow-out. Like Canana said, you just have to get through the awkward period... which seemed to last forever (about 6 months I think). I would wet the hair a couple times a day to keep it out of her eyes. It was well worth the effort though as I love having it grown & parted between the eyes. |

| We are in the growing out phase at the moment. The last time I took Loki to the groomer, she cut the hair between his eyes. Now when I put it in his "puppytail", he has these big curling waves over his eyes. Ah well, his hair grows quickly so they'll be tied up soon. |

| I think it depends on the coat type. I never used to cut between Teddy's eyes but have done it for the last year because his coat is cottony and the hair between his eyes doesn't stay flat. So, I have him groomed every 12 weeks or so which prevents the cut hair from poking his little black marble eyes... |

| For the first 2 years Emma's hair grew downward on the nose and eyes, I ended up getting a groomer and she trimmed it. I was okay with it since my vet had said something about possible eye infection if it wasn't trimmed regularly. Emma is regularly groomed and the eye/nose hair is trimmed so I don't notice the awkward but it does irk me when its starting to grow out. I think its okay to have the long hair its just a personal preference.
