| Pet Insurance Can anyone recommend a pet insurance that actually covers things. I have VPI and so far they have covered nothing. I had my puppy nuetored last week the bill came out to almost $500 and they are only giving me back $65. I am paying $30 a month and I feel like that it is not worth it (unless god forbid he gets hurt) I do not want to have NO insurance. But I would like something that will cover more then they do. BTW I am in New York |

| I Personally wouldn't purchase VPI for 30 CENTS a month but that's only MY Opinion

| PetCare I just purchased insurance for my yorkie and my beagle through PetCare last month - I just got them the cheapest plan QuickCare which is $9.95 a month for each. And yesterday, my little Oakley was bitten by another dog So I will be filing my claim with PetCare soon. I'll post an update to let you know if this insurance is worth it. |

| I'm interested too! I have toyed with the idea of getting it, but never fully researched all of them. As with most insurance, it seems like you have to know someone with experience it it to know if it is really good....so any of you with pet insurance, any kind, please post!

| I have the pet insurance through Banfield Pet Hospital. I got it the day after I brought Teddy home. For a new puppy I think it's great. I paid $99 to enroll and then just $19.95 per month which comes out to only $338.30 for the year. In that cost all office calls are covered even if you bring them in every single day the office call is free in the plan. Also it included all wellness based shots, exams and tests based on age. His neuter was also included in that price. What it doesn't cover is emergency type situations. The office call is covered but anything else like drugs and such you are responsible for at a % off. For emergency situations I have a credit card that can be used at basically any vet or emergency clinic/hospital. Teddy got quite sick about 3 days after he came to us and I was actually at the clinic on a daily basis everyday for the first month I had him. In that time alone on what I saved on office visits it paid for itself and well over. I know many don't like Banfield but mine has 2 very good vets that went above and beyond to get Teddy to the point of being the healthy boy he is today.
