I have the pet insurance through Banfield Pet Hospital.
I got it the day after I brought Teddy home. For a new
puppy I think it's great. I paid $99 to enroll and then
just $19.95 per month which comes out to only $338.30
for the year. In that cost all office calls are covered
even if you bring them in every single day the office call
is free in the plan. Also it included all wellness based
shots, exams and tests based on age. His neuter was
also included in that price. What it doesn't cover is emergency
type situations. The office call is covered but anything else
like drugs and such you are responsible for at a % off.
For emergency situations I have a credit card that can
be used at basically any vet or emergency clinic/hospital.
Teddy got quite sick about 3 days after he came to us
and I was actually at the clinic on a daily basis everyday
for the first month I had him. In that time alone on what
I saved on office visits it paid for itself and well over.
I know many don't like Banfield but mine has 2 very good
vets that went above and beyond to get Teddy to the
point of being the healthy boy he is today.
