| That is so sad! How old is your dog? Is your vet aware of this? What does s/he recommend?

| We have a similar dilemma with our Teddy. He reacts to the flea preventatives and he reacts strongly to a single flea. Luckily, we have had very few fleas. We just do extra grooming, extra vacuuming and washing. The vet gave us a topical med for when Teddy does have a flea bite. I don't know what we will do if we run into a real problem with fleas.

| I am not sure exactly what is available in your area but there is a chewable form called nexgard and bravecto. My mother has been using the bravecto with her weenie dogs (senior girl has bad flea allergies) and it is working great. It lasts for 4 or 6 months....I can't remember. You could ask your vet if that would be safe for him.
