| ears don't stand up and no tail Just found this site while searching for shampoo for my Yorkie...Miss Willow. My little girl is 2 yrs old. Doesn't matter to me at all, but was wondering why her ears are not erect and her tail is almost non-existent! She is a little over 5# and rules this roost with a loud mouth! Her sisters are...Great Pyrneese Irish Wolfhound mix, a Min. Schnauzer, and a Carin Terrier. She does NOT share well, but her "sisters" all give her anything she wants. They consider her "the baby"! I cannot imagine my life without her. I will always have a Yorkie! I never knew why people were so obsessed with their dogs...until her. I have never loved a pet like I do her and I've had pets all my life and considered myself a loving pet owner. When I'm not with her, I actually miss her...sappy, but true. they all eat Blue Buffalo with life source bits. Thanks for any feedback. |

| Hello MissWillowsMom, Welcome, I'm a newbee as well. I have three yorkies, mom (Tinkerbell), dad (Giggetty) and daughter (PixieDust). Tinker and Giggetty's are both down. Not all yorkies ears stand up. Sometimes their just large and heavy and sometimes just lazy. My Pixie is a mixture of both because she has one up and one down (go figure). I also feed my babies Blue Buffalo, because it's healthier for them and my babies seem to love it. |

| thanks I will try to get some pics taken...but I'm not Misa Minnie's mom! lol I just figured out how to get a bow in her hair! She always had a puppy cut...but am going to let her "bangs" grow out so she can wear bows with her new clothes I've ordered. I'm addicted to Misa Minnie, just love that little thing! She (and her mamma) are just an inspiration to me. I wouldn't love my baby less if all her hair fell out tomorrow. I call her my little "guinea pig" cuz her eyes just look like a pet I had as a child. I love the eyes...My carin absolutely adores her and lets her have her way all the time. The wolfhound lays on the floor with her and is so gentle with her. Sometimes, Miss Willow lays on Cassies HUGE bed and Cassie lays on the floor beside her. Can you say SPOILED????? |

| As I understand it, the Yorkie standard says they should have erect ears and tails docked mid length...although docking is now banned in some countries. However. Some ears don't stand, some tails get docked too short., some tails are full length and not docked at all. I have three Yorkies, two have ears that don't stand, one has a too short docked tail, one has a full tail, and one has a tail docked at mid length and ears that stand. I love them equally, and could not care less...but...I don't show them so conformation to the standard is not important...Yorkie kisses are!

| Welcome to YT. I had 3 with floppy ears and 2 with big beautiful stand up ears. When I had my 3 with floppy ears that's alll I ever wanted, until I got my last girl (now past) she had German Sheppard size ears, they were beautiful, My little adopted boy has big straight ears. Floppy or stand up, yorkies are an awesome breed with much attitude, mischievous little characters that will capture your heart with a blink of the eye. Enjoy that little girl.

| Oh my goodness! What a difference! He is adorable!!!!!! I trim miss willow's hair myself....ears still don't stand erect, but who cares? Not I ! I love this site...Yorkie people are definitely a breed unto their own!!! Can't wait for my new shampoo & conditioner I ordered to see how her coat looks. She is my joy. Only problem is, she's not a cuddler...my only complaint. She shows her love, but shes an independent little bugger!!! The wolfhound? Now theres a cuddler...All day, any day. Has to be with us, and preferably wants us touching her constantly. Gets on your lap whenever she can. Sleeps with us sometimes even! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | The ears don't stand up bc the breeder probably didn't take the effort to make them stand. It's probably too late now, but here is how to do it if interested: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/pup...-stand-up.html
