Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | How To Tape A Yorkie's Ears To Stand Up Here are some resources for learning how to tape a yorkie's ears so that they stand erect. Method One is using Dr. Scholl's Moleskin (available in any store where they sell shoe pads): You have to cut out a piece that is almost as large as the inside of your dog's ear flap, peel off the backing and fit the adhesive side against the inside of the shaved/clean ear. You can use a little medical tape to further secure the moleskin pad, and leave this set in for about 3 days - then take it down, and see how the ear does; if needed, repeat for another 3-5 days.Method Two, from here, and please see pictures from the site, attached below: It's perfectly normal for the ears to droop during teething. However, the thickness of the ears is in the breeding and if they are too thick, they may not come up. The ears should be trimmed on the edge about halfway down each side, then use a clipper (the Wahl clipper is available in your local Payless or other drug store, the kind that is used to trim the hair on the back of the neck) with a surgical blade, about halfway down front and back of each ear. This is usually started at about four weeks but if your puppy's ears are still not up, you must take off the hair, massage them regularly, say once a day, to keep the circulation going and tape them as shown.
