| My first post! Hello. My wife and I just brought our Yorkie home 2 days ago and it has been so exciting! We had a Bichon Frisée for almost 18 years but when we put her to sleep 3 years ago, I didn't want to "replace" her so it took us 3 years before I even considered having another dog. We did our research and finally decided on a Yorkie. The Yorkie, being hypoallergenic, was the logical choice for me. The breeder where we got our puppy has been very good in giving us suggestions on what to do, that the experience has been so positive. Last night was her second night with us and she did not cry at all the whole night. She started crying 15 minutes before our wake up time but we ignored her. The breeder told us that we are "the boss" so she had to wait for us to wake up. She is so lively and rambunctious; she has made our home more alive. I look forward to sharing our experience and learning from your experience. |

| Welcome to YT, we all know the hurt of losing a pet, but you chose a great breed to start over with. Looking forward to the pics when you post them. Cheers Quad

| Thank you, We are actually in the same boat as you. Two of our three sons have left home and our youngest will soon be finishing school. It is great to hear you are very happy with your choice of a Yorkie. The last one we had was a female and the new one is a female, too. They are the "daughters" I never had. Our breeder's website has a quote that says, "The one who believes that happiness doesn't exist, didn't know about Yorkies." |

| Welcome to Yorkie Talk and the whole world of Yorkies. Like you, I too found this wonderful breed after the loss of a dog of another breed (mini Schnauzer). I had no idea at the time what amazing little fur-kids Yorkies are, and how they can fill a house and heart with joy. Once I discovered this, I could not help myself and ended up getting 3 more Yorkie Mixes that really complete my life. They are addicting you know Can't wait to see photos of your pup and hear lots of stories.

| I think I am ready for a second one, maybe a male. We live in cold country so maybe we will wait for next spring or summer! |

| I felt like I was going to die too the day I lost Minnie; it just hurt so far beyond any words I can write. Please accept my condolences on your Bichon Frisee's passing. I know there will never be a day I don't miss Minnie, and I'm sure you feel the same. But, oh, what joy having a yorkie pup to raise brings to a home. My little yorkie girl Cookie is such an amazing friend and play partner and so loving. Pups just seem to return your love back in multiples of what you give.

| Thank you all for such a warm welcome! I always thought I was the only "sentimental" one in regards to our pups but I was wrong. We are so excited about the new one but very often we mistakenly call her by the name of the previous one. |
