Huey had his annual checkup and vaccinations this am. Knees look good, no sign of LP. Heartworm and intestinal worm checks are negative. Gonna have to put him in the teapot club since he is now 8.6 lbs

. Got 3 year parvo, 3 year rabies, lepto and bordetella- he has had all of these at the same time 3 years ago when he was much smaller, so I'm not worried about reactions- got 6 months of Trifexis ($135.33) and got him a Home Again chip ($50) all for a grand total of $360.89. I don't think that was too bad. They also gave him a complimentary dose of anti inflammatory pain med for the chip insertion. Just glad he passed all his exams with a clean bill of health and glad I finally got him chipped. Asked about dental and the vet said his teeth look so good, she doesn't recommend getting one for at least another year.

Your annual check-up cost less than mine! I did receive a few free samples of Frontline, however.

Nice check up results Huey, way to go! Always nice to hear their teeth are looking good too, phew.

I'm so glad mine are chipped too...there is just that extra sense of security, just in case.

The needle that inserts the chip is huge (like a 14ga?) but Huey didn't even jump or yelp or anything. I know because I held him while she injected it. Just now, though, I was brushing out the tangles caused by his harness, and found a big bloody patch at the insertion site.

Poor baby! I know he will be sore tomorrow if he isn't already. I'm glad they gave him a dose of pain med there. I cleaned up the blood and he doesn't seem to be having any issues...running up and down the stairs as usual, etc...He is a little more subdued than usual, but that is normal for him after shots.

Good job Huey! His teeth are awesome cause HE brushes them! (Mommy helps, but we know it's your brushing skills that count!) Keep getting that tooth decay Huey!

Heehee...the vet asked if I brush his teeth and I replied no, but he does. She looked at me like I was pulling her leg, then I showed her pics. She then called the tech over and said "look at this!" And the tech just laughed, because she already knew from previous visits.

Vet said he does a good job...
