The needle that inserts the chip is huge (like a 14ga?) but Huey didn't even jump or yelp or anything. I know because I held him while she injected it. Just now, though, I was brushing out the tangles caused by his harness, and found a big bloody patch at the insertion site. Poor baby! I know he will be sore tomorrow if he isn't already. I'm glad they gave him a dose of pain med there. I cleaned up the blood and he doesn't seem to be having any issues...running up and down the stairs as usual, etc...He is a little more subdued than usual, but that is normal for him after shots.
