| 9 week old humping? Is humping normal at this age? He's starting to hump his toys, and now my leg. A friend of mine came and was playing with him and he started to hump her arm omg I was so embarrased lol Is this a behavior I need to correct? Why is he doing this at such an early age?

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Jasper had a toy he would hump and I read on hear to throw it away. However, hes never humped humans before. So I can't help with that part. I know somebody will come along who can though. Poor Bentley and poor momma!

| Nip that in the bud right away. Get him off of anything he's claiming, and get his mind on something else or this could end up an unwanted habit.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Alfie used to have several hump toys, he started very early too but now only a favourite blanket. It is worse when he is on allergy steroids but he is weaned off those for now. I don't stop him as it doesn't bother me, I will challenge it if he continues after his first birthday or he starts on humans.

| My Cupcake started when he was 8 weeks old. It was only with one specific toy. I was worried too but found out it was a dominance thing and to not let him do it. I took the toy away and he hasn't done it in a long time.

| Blazer did that when he was really little, too but I didn't like it and won't allow it so I made him stop. A firm NO and tap on the behind (NOT a hit!) to get his attention then re-direction worked for us. He only ever did it a few times.

| I should clarify my earlier post- Blazer would hump his toy tiger. Nothing else- though I did see him hump his litter mates a time or two.

| Guinney did it that young and I would catch him with his favorite bunny up till I had him neutered around one, I knew he would stop after neutering so I just dealt with it till his growth plates closed.

| 9 week old humping too I am glad to know that this is normal at this age. Duke has been humping toys on and off and then he started humping his sister, Daisy. Not Cool. It is a dominance issue more than anything so I just stop him when I see it happening and tell him "NO" firmly and redirect. |

| Yeah I am thinking this is a dominant puppy. He doesn't wait for me to fix his food, he just starts going at it, he keeps doing things even if I keep telling him "No" .... He jumps at my face and tries to bite my nose and ears. Now he's starting to bite my ankles and grab my pants .... He shows this behavior when he's hyper or playful mode. Looks like this little guy needs lots of training. Since I can't take him out on walks until he has all the shots, do you guys have any ideas to make him tired?

Indoor fetch is a god send. If he has a good toy drive have at it till the tongue hangs out. This is our usual routine for the evening. Usually about 7 or so I sit down in the hall and start throwing the ball into the living room. We do this until he is tuckered out. As young as he is, it will probably be just about 5 minutes or even less. Endurance will build as he gets older. When Bentley brings me the toy and lays against my leg and just quietly chews on it, I know he's done. I say it's time for bed and he's ready to go lay down next to my desk until I'm ready to go to bed a few hours later.

YT Young Pup | to keep kudos busy I run around the house and let him chase me. Also kudos knows how to play hide and seek. Have someone hold them and cover there eyes. You go hide somewhere. then yell im ready, come and find me. Also tell the person that is holding Bentley to say "go seek" its a good thing to learn. And if they don't find you in 8-10 minutes make a noise or call there name. then when they find you, get all excited and lovey dovey. they love it cause they know its fun and they will get praised for doing this.
