| ? for multible YT owners The saying that yorkies are like potato chips is true. My question is if you want to add a new yorkie to your family, is it best to do it while you current yorkie is still a pup, or is it okay to wait and add when she/ he is older? |

| there are pros and cons to both. If you have 2 pups youll be potty training them at the same time which is hard but I have done it. On the other hand a pup isnt going to have any trouble accepting another pup which can happen quite a bit when you have an adult and bring in a pup. There is an adjustment period. Mine were both pups and I dont regret it they are close buddies

| Mine came to us a year apart but they are almost the same age...they love each other so much that I fear the day when one will have to learn to live with out the other. |

| We got ours 3 months apart...Brody was 14 months old and Mia was 17 months old. Mia is older than Brody by 5 days. They are extremely close...we've only seen 'cross words' between them twice and not for months. I think the issue then was over toys..."which are all belong to Brody"...even/especially Mia's. But, she stands up to him and snatches them away now, and plays 'keep away' and 'guards' him off the loveseat protecting 'his' (their) toys from him...all in good fun, mind you! She's quite the little imp and instigator!

| I think it depends. I teach dog training and we don't usually reccomend getting two young pups close to the same time. Generally we believe that it is best to get the first one trained before adding another - if neither is housebroken, it can be impossible to figure out who did what. I got Beemer when Sadie was 1 1/2 years old. It did take a few days for her to adjust to him but they couldn't be any closer now if they were littermates. Having one trained (I'm not just talking housebroken) dog will really greatly asist you in training the other one. Beemer is now two and the itch has started for another one. I'm really trying to resist even thinking about it. A very wise gentleman that I work with said that he will always have three dogs. That way if something happens to one of them, the other one won't be left completely alone. Mine are so dependent on each other that it is something I think about. By the way - I realize I'm like the person with their Christmas lights still up in March. I haven't been able to locate my favorite non holiday avatar. I can't remember which computer I downloaded it to.

| We added our 2nd when Bevo was 2... Then the 3rd about 6 months later.... Then the FOURTH about 5 months later!!!! It took Bevo awhile to accept them... However the pups all took to each other sooooo easily!! It worked out too, spacing them apart because each was potty trained before the next arrived!! If I can just get this last one potty trained I'm home free!!! I never thought I'd have 4.... But each has their own perfect personality and I wouldn't trade the world for any of them!!! And they always have a playmate and a cuddle buddy!!!

My furkids Donating Member | got Sadie first. (she's 7 yrs old now) Then Lillie a year later (she will be 6yrs in June) We just got our little man (Bentley) the week before Christmas he is 7 months old now. It took Sadie longer than I thought to accept Lillie...It took the girls about 3-4 weeks before they "liked" their new baby brother...now they are all buddies...as for housebreaking.......all I can say is UGH!

Haha! I'm going blind! I thought you decorated for Easter! Now I see the tiny script, lol. I'm still on Valentine's Day! Peek a Boo was 10 years old when we brought 2.5 year old Tinkerbell home. One month later we added 3 year old Sapphire, then after 6 months we added 2 Year Old Infinity. They do get along well for the most part. Lately though, they've started 'correcting' each other???? Too funny! I also have a rule: Each one is my 'favorite'. Peek's my fav mandog, Tink's my fav 'big girl', Finnie's my fav Biewer, and Sapphire is my fav princess! This way nobody ever feels left out, and very rarely do we have any jealousy issues.

Yes...I love it! I have always done the same thing...mostly with the cats so far. It's been "my favorite long-haired black kitty" or "my favorite black American short hair" but each of my babies has been my "favorite" for something special and unique to them and they always seem to understand what I mean !

| We waited until our first was 2.5 until we added another, and he did fine with the new addition. He was still young enough to accept her and play with her but he was potty trained and confident.
