I think it depends. I teach dog training and we don't usually reccomend getting two young pups close to the same time. Generally we believe that it is best to get the first one trained before adding another - if neither is housebroken, it can be impossible to figure out who did what. I got Beemer when Sadie was 1 1/2 years old. It did take a few days for her to adjust to him but they couldn't be any closer now if they were littermates. Having one trained (I'm not just talking housebroken) dog will really greatly asist you in training the other one. Beemer is now two and the itch has started for another one. I'm really trying to resist even thinking about it. A very wise gentleman that I work with said that he will always have three dogs. That way if something happens to one of them, the other one won't be left completely alone. Mine are so dependent on each other that it is something I think about.

By the way - I realize I'm like the person with their Christmas lights still up in March. I haven't been able to locate my favorite non holiday avatar. I can't remember which computer I downloaded it to.
