Senior Yorkie Talker | HELP!!!!!!My Yorkies coat has breakage, split ends and is really dry and brittle. I need help on what products to use on her coat that will reconstruct and help fix her coat. Its pretty bad. I was considering Pet silk moisturizing shampoo but it has a mint smell and I don't like mint fragrances. I am to recieve a Yorkie Splash and Shine sample again. But I seriously need antibreakage and repairing products. I know what I did wrong. I just need products to help fix it. Thanks.

| I may be wrong, but my experience is that you can't fix the breakage. You should have your baby groomed and her hair clipped down to the shortest break. Unfortunately, I don't think theres much more you could do. Also, as far as conditioning, a good coating of Cholesterol (can be purchased at beauty supply) rubbed in to hair for 10 to 15 mins, warm rinse and towel dry should help. Also, flax seed oil is miraculous and works in a matter of days.

| I agree, split ends and breakage can't really be repaired. Best to clip, and then to continue snipping just the ends to keep the hair strong. Your girl is very young, if I recall correctly. Are you sure you aren't looking at puppy coat? It can be fuzzy and look like split ends.

Senior Yorkie Talker | Question. I've been looking at some products and I think I may try Pure Paws to get her coat to grow again. I've been researching products too. To help repair the damage. Any good products to help reconstruct? I'm also looking at Yorkie Splash and Shine.

| I have never used Pure Paws. However, I am currently using Yorkie Splash and Shine. I also use the Yorkie Sheen detangler. I personally like it a lot. It has a wonderful smell to it and makes my girls coat look great.

| Hon, why don't you upload a picture and an explanation of what your trying to do/accomplish with your babys coat. A Yorkies coat will grow and be healthy as long as your Yorkie is healthy, and if you puppy cut her now, you will see that she will have long hair again in no time at all. How old is your Yorkie? There are different types of coats, not all Yorkies can have that pretty fine long hair. If your Yorkie is very young her coat is probably changing so don't blame yourself so much!
