| frustrated Why are the yorkies in my area all so darn agressive??? Kaos is dying to play with a yorkie buddy, and he runs up to them with his tail wagging ready to play and they all growl, and or snap at him. Kaos has only met two that have been socialized, and he has the BEST time with them. It makes me so sad. I don't want them to break his spirit. The last time he met one, it snapped at him and he ran back and sat and looked at me so sad, with a "mommy why does he do that face?" /end rant

| Awee! If I was near you, I'd have my little Geno play with your baby. Any time I bring him over to my mom's house though, he tries to play with my mom's 25lb scottie, Annie, but Annie wasn't having it. She's really sick too so another reason she doesn't want to play with him. Geno needs a playmate as well! |

| I feel your pain. When we first brought Teddy home, he was eager to greet other dogs on our walks. The first 3 little dog encounters he had, the dogs went nuts on him. He doesn't trust other dogs now. All the little dogs jump at my big boys' heads and swat at them.

| I'm working on socializing Belle, but she's very shy and seems to get overwhelmed. Oliver (shih tzu) is very friendly with other dogs, so I'm trying to bring the two of them out together so that she will so that the world isn't such a scary place. I did actually bring her to meet a few other Yorkies this past weekend. Most of them were at least twice her size, but she did pretty well. There was a really sweet (teapot) boy who wanted to make friends with her. They sniffed each other a bit and when she she started to look a little stressed I removed her from the situation. I'd love for her to be happy to see other small dogs! I hope we don't encounter any little dogs who snap at her - it would ruin any progress we've made.

| With my older puppy we had the same problem, most little dogs were agrresive or snappy with him so he started ignoring them! When we would go to the dog park he would only play with larger dogs and ignore the little ones because of so many negative experiences! It is very sad to see so many little dogs fearfull and aggressive because they were not socialized as pups, we always made/make sure to bring our pups lots of places and to meet lots of people and dogs a like so they can adapt to any situation!

Well, if you 2 ever feel like popping over to the UK, I'm sure Kaos and Harry would be best buddies! We've had those problems too (even though Harry's 'bigger'!!!) especially with dogs that are smaller than him. Big dogs - fine, on the whole. I hate that wondering look of 'why don't they like me'. | Brandi can be snappy but she does eventually warm up to other dogs her size. She stays away from dogs larger than her and if they get to close, she will snap at them. Dogs her size don't really intimidate her unless they do something first. Brandi really doesn't play with other dogs too much. It takes her a long time to really trust other dogs but once she's used to them she will make an attempt at playing with them Brandi is 11 yrs old and is a rescued from a byb. So she may not know how to play. I've worked with her over the years to correct her snapping at other dogs and it has gotten much better. Now she will at least let other dogs come up to her to smell her butt . |

| My baby gets so scared when a dog comes up to sniff his butt. My mom's dog tries to sniff his butt whenever I bring him over to the house and he'll try climbing onto my shoulder so she cannot get to him. lol

I have 5 dogs a yorkie named Zach who is 1 1/2 a shorkie named Zoe who is almost 2 and Oliver who is a 10 month old shih tzu. I also have 2 bassets named Chloe and Cleo who are 2 years old and they both love other dogs big and small. |

| Today I brought my 2 little ones to Petco to buy Oliver his birthday present. There was a little long-haired chi there. Oliver was friendly with her, but Belle sniffed her and then backed away and barked. I don't want her to be anti-social, so we're going to sign up for a basic training class. Hopefully, since she's still fairly young she'll learn how to make new dog friends. I DON'T want to have a mean little dog!

| That's really too bad your neighborhood Yorkies aren't friendly. Have you searched your area for Yorkie Meet-Ups? We have been to several, and for the most part the pups are friendly. You may come across one once in awhile that isn't as nice. Most places ask aggressive dogs to leave. You may want to look into something like that. They seem to enjoy their own breed so much.
