| A Happy Ending This doesn't really apply to Yorkies, but just wanted to share =) Lately my house seems to be the place for people to drop off their unwanted dogs! A couple months ago a boxer was dropped off we fed her, cleaned her up, and was ready to take her to the vet on Monday, however when Monday rolled around she'd vanished just as quickly as she appeared. Two pit bulls were recently dropped off and attacked my neighbors goats! eeeek, I can't say for sure what happened to these dogs, I haven't seen them again. Yesterday a small black dog was just standing in my driveway, my mom panicked bc from a distance it looked a lot like Gabby! Thankfully Gabby was in the house barking her head off at the TV, so we knew it wasn't her. With a little dog food bribe, we got the dog to come to us (kind of looked like a poodle mix from closer up). To our horror this dog was nothing but bones, matted with mud, missing most of it's teeth, and it's ear was swollen almost completely shut! I was willing to keep the dog just to get it the medical attention it needed, but my other neighbor (the one without the goats) came down and although they also didn't need another dog, they packed it home in crate holding it out as far as possible because of the terrible smell! Yesterday evening I fought to keep the dog out of mind, figuring the vet would tell them the best thing for the dog would be to euthanize it. I guess that wasn't the case! This morning the dog is cleaned up and running around their yard like it just got a brand new set of legs! This just goes to show that all a homeless dog needs is a little TLC! My fingers are crossed that this is the last unwanted puppy that finds it's way to my house! My heart is too big to let them go, I have to find them homes, before my neighbor agreed to take this dog, I had already made 3 phone calls trying to find it a home! |

| I tend to do the same thing. I almost feel like people know to dump them by our houses because we will take care of them. Lol. I just can't turn them away. It is nice to know there is others in the world like that. My DH says I am a sucker!!!! So glad this baby found a new home.

| Oh, yeah, I'm definitely a sucker for a needful dog. We used to live in a rural area and I took in many, many strays and found homes for them. I spent more money on vet trips with strays than I did on my own dogs! A young woman who lives down the street from me, a single mom with two little kids, had a little toy poodle that someone gave her. She told me she was going to have to take it to the shelter because she couldn't afford to take care of it. I took the dog, of course, took her to the vet and got all her shots and took her to my groomer and got her all prettied up, then went about finding her a home. She was already spayed and house trained. Very pretty, sweet and just an adorable little girl. Weighed eight pounds. She went to live with a young family who had two little kids. The little girl fell in love with the dog and they are still the best of friends. I have pictures of them playing together and snuggling. Great success story! Jeanette |

| Same thing happens to me. Last winter a Pom just showed up by my back gate and it was so cold and he was so small. I mentioned it to my neighbor who had seen the dog wondering around our area too - long story short she ended up adopting the pom and now his name is "Foxy"
