Oh, yeah, I'm definitely a sucker for a needful dog. We used to live in a rural area and I took in many, many strays and found homes for them. I spent more money on vet trips with strays than I did on my own dogs! A young woman who lives down the street from me, a single mom with two little kids, had a little toy poodle that someone gave her. She told me she was going to have to take it to the shelter because she couldn't afford to take care of it. I took the dog, of course, took her to the vet and got all her shots and took her to my groomer and got her all prettied up, then went about finding her a home. She was already spayed and house trained. Very pretty, sweet and just an adorable little girl. Weighed eight pounds. She went to live with a young family who had two little kids. The little girl fell in love with the dog and they are still the best of friends. I have pictures of them playing together and snuggling. Great success story!
