| Diamond Yorkies Howdy everyone, I'm going to be getting my first little yorkie from Pam at diamondyorkies dotcom. His name is Nicky and he's the on the first page. Just curious if anyone has heard anything positive or negative about this breeder before I pick up. I called her vet and verified that she takes good care of her litters and spoke to her on the phone as well. Just want to double check with people in the "know" about yorkies before I buy. Thanks! Keri |

| Well, It's just my opinion but I've had Yorkies for about 20 years but I would NOT buy my baby from Diamond Yorkies. The first reason is because they use APRI to register some of their dogs, they breed off standard colors ( they have a chocolate stud), they use the word "teacup" and micro tiny and the biggest reason is because they think that is OK to have pups go to their new homes between 7 -8 weeks, which is way to young in my opinion!! I'd keep looking!!

| Are you able to go visit the puppy in person, before purchase? If so, I would strongly suggest that you go see the puppy and parents in person.

Too many red flags.....micro minis. A lot of this award and that award that are very meaningless. I see nothing about a contract/guarantee.....Not a place where I would begin my search. There are some great reputable breeders in Texas.....I'm heading out that way on Wed. to visit a couple of them....

| You need to Run Run Run the Other Way, Fast & Hard. There is No Way I would ever buy a pup from that breeder. They stand for Every thing that you Don't want in a breeder. |

| Lots of red flags: "Peanut is going to be a tiny little guy".... "His parents are about 3 1/2 pounds each"... "His short cobby body and tiny features are amazing"... "Previous litters have also grown to his parent's size"... "He has a spunky personality and makes us laugh quite a bit"... "He is AKC registered and would make a nice purse puppy. He is 1800 plus shipping." Breeds for tinies "The optimal time for puppies to be placed with their new human families is at 7-8 weeks of age" Doesn't know leaving litter earlier can cause lifelong temperament problems Dogs used for breeding rarely meet the breed standard Last edited by AMD; 05-09-2011 at 08:21 PM. |

| The time to research the breeder is a long time before you get a pup. Buy the breeder first, then the Pup! Mardelin and the others are spot on. Red Flag! |
