| I am in the same boat as you but you have to really interview the Breeders. Like everyone else said, look for red flags and any inconsistency in what they say or list on their site. I have come to realize that a great deal of the people that you run across are simply about making a quick dollar. I actually had one that told me yesterday to leave her alone because I seemed sweet and she couldn't do this to me! Do what???? I quickly hung up. It is so crazy to think that people would take advantage of people that actually want to spread love to a dog. Research, research, research and research again! You can't ask too many questions! |

| I am just a pet owner and have owned yorkies fo 14 years now. I wish 14 years ago when I got my first I would have had access to the knowledge that ppl shared here. My 1st was 8 wks when I got her - way too young to be placed, but I didn't know. She had health and personality "quirks" all of her life. For the 2nd yorkie I owned, I had and listened to advice of ppl who know this breed well, and there is definitely a difference in personality and social skills in a dog that has been raised by a good breeder who keeps them AT LEAST 12 wks and who takes the time to socialize them. I would find a breeder who keeps their pups longer. Diamond yorkies might take good care of their dogs, I don't know. But pups need to be kept and properly socialized for longer than 7 wks. |

| Check them out carefully. Dogs are like people, they all have their own personalities. We got Ginger (our first Yorkie) from a pet store almost 8 years ago. We didn't know any better then. She was very young, I think 6 weeks old. She has been a wonderful dog though and we love her dearly. She has some minor "imperfections" but otherwise very health. I know she came from a puppy mill (in Missouri) but was unaware of that at the time. Use your head when checking them out rather than your heart and emotions. Whatever choice you make, I'm sure it will be the right one for you. I'm sure that no matter where you get your puppy you will love it and be a wonderful dog pawrent. Good luck to you and your new puppy. |

| I agree with what everyone else said, don't do it! Just the fact alone that they have him posed next to a football to show how "tiny" he is is a bad sign in itself. Don't fall for the website claiming all this crazy stuff, "micro, tiny, teacup blah blah blah bad bad bad. I would never ever buy a dog being "shipped" to me, ESPECIALLY at only 8 weeks old! Read the link that was posted about "how to find a reputable breeder", this one is NOT. Read this recent thread too - Sick Little Wiley Coyotee It's not the same "breeder", but it'll help you understand what we're all talking about.

| When I got my first yorkie I did not know alot about breeders and I got him from a backyard breeder, he was very healthy and tiny. He was 14 weeks old when I got him and he weighed 3/4 of a pound. 2 years later I got my girl, they said she was 12 weeks old and she weighed just over a pound so I thought they were telling me the truth, turns out they were a puppy mill and when I got her registration papers imagine my surprise when I found out she was ONLY 4 1/2 weeks old!!!!!! Be very careful!!!

| Doesn't look like they are paying any attention whatsoever to the breed standard. Not one I would recommend. Interesting they and "buddies" haven't joined yet and defended themselves, oh well, maybe tomorrow, LOL. |
