| Still be stubborn, will not eat! Help! Sassy is still refusing to eat. She will not eat dog food, cheese, treats, chicken, anything you put in front of her. She has no diarrhea or vomiting. At the vet yesterday they gave her fluids for dehydration, and two med injections to soothe the stomach and prevent any nausea since she wouldnt eat. This is the 3 day she will not eat and I am beyond frustrated. I dont know what to do |

| Have you tried any canned food yet? I know that Wellness makes really good canned foods, some are organic, and it is very high in protein. it is primarily used for supplemental feedings because of the high protein content. When my yorkie would not eat , I had to hand feed her , little by little she got better and now eats fine . If you have not tried boiled beef yet , no grease , try that. Or you could try a raw diet. Or homecook for her, but you really have to know what to feed them when you homecook. I have heard they need to have vitamins too along with being homecooked. The biggest thing is to stay away from all greasy foods including meat. I was even able to get mine to eat a little bit of cooked vegies mixed in the canned food. I am surprised she will not eat chicken, boiled , with no skin. I would mix the chicken in her canned food and she ate it all up. Is she a new yorkie? If she is then she is adjusting to a new home , and could be a little stressed out.

| How was Sassy's appetite before the spay? I wonder if the anesthesia made her queasy and her stomach isn't feeling right. Did you try some chicken baby food (no onion/onion powder on the label). Also ask the vet for some a/d prescription dog food. When Sammy was sick last year the vet sent him home with 2 cans of it. I only gave him about 1 teaspoon at a time and he ate it right up. Good luck!! I hope she starts to eat soon. |

She could have been! The vet said to keep offering her food and to call back if she still refused. I guess tomorrow I will be giving them a call She sent her home with some a/d food to encourage her to eat. It isnt helping a whole lot. | ||

| Chicken broth seems to work really well while encouraging them to continually either eat kibble or learn to eat kibble...IMO...warm it mildly. I often warm chicken broth and pour it over vegis...on cold days but my dogs eat RAW and kibble so...you may want to cook the vegis adn then add kibble back in, whatever works...

| When mine (never mind, when Sissy, Bubba has never passed up a meal) won't eat I crush a dehydrated liver snack on top and she eats the whole bowl. I use Etta says but I have seen other brands in Petco. They crush easily into a fine powder. I. hope the poor little girl feels better soon

| I am boiling some chicken this morning and am going to make some ice cubes from the broth as was recommended. Hopefully I can get her to eat some chicken. She is hopping around, barking, playing with her chihuahua sisters and I am able to get her to drink. She just refuses to eat! No vomiting, no diarrhea, nothing...I am STUMPED! She is not just laying around sleeping, she is up playing, going outside. WEIRD...I think my dog is trying to make me age quickly and I am only 26 lol! |

| I have resorted to using Little Cesars at times... it's guaraunteed that dogs will eat it or your money back. Or maybe consider a second opinion from a different vet...

| The thicker the broth the better...so if you made it more watery and she doesn't eat don't give up...I'm lazy I get broth in a box...but at Christmas I made some chicken soup and (plain) and gave the dogs some broth with lots of bits of chicken in it-they love it that way the best. Quote:
