| Bufo frog I hate them!!!!! My boo boo went out today for his usual playtime and had to find a bufo frog when I was not looking... I don't know what to do to frog proof my yard does anyone have any suggestions... Also I usually rinse his mouth really well with water and give him lemon juice which I heard is good is there anything better? I'm at least grateful it wasn't one of my smaller babies that can't ingest as much as my big boy.....by the way did I mention I HATE THOSE FROGS GRRR!!!! |

| My booboo will chase anything that moves I think it's the terrier in him. I don't know how to get rid of them I was hoping someone on here had some ideas but I think I may have offended some people when I said I hate them. I think they are native to south Florida you may not have wo |

| By the way he is doing fine thank you for asking. I keep a pretty close eye on them when outside more so at night when the frogs really come out but every now and then we see one during the day and leave it to my booboo to find it. |

| My little one got hold of one last year and it freaked me out. She was foaming at the mouth and of course I was going nuts After we rinsed her mouth out really good she was fine , but she has never tried to get another one!!! Sorry you had to go through that and that everything is alright . It is a scary feeling and for me it was scary to see!

| My Finnigan goes crazy after frogs too! He just got ahold of a normal toad last time and even it made him start foaming at the mouth.

Wow! If you have them in NC and she has them in FL, I guess I better educate myself on these frogs. Anyone have a picture of one?

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Those kinds of frogs are very toxic and have caused alot of deaths - I researched them when I had toads in my yard - non toxic but what I read on the Bufo's was scary - We luckily don't have them in houston |

| Frogs Hey, I'm right here in Florida (Palm Bay) with you and these frogs are all over the place. Somebody just tell us how to keep them out of the yard! I found out last year when my yorkie started foaming at the mouth and shaking her head uncontrolably. I ran her to the neighbor's house and she told me the frogs were poison to dogs. What the heck...my nephews played with them and no reaction. I couldn't believe it. Not long after that incident, she just sniffed one and had the same reaction. I think she has learned to stay away from them, but now I have a new baby who is now six months and she is finding every little frog there is in the yard...and they are all over the place. The baby frogs are as tiny as a pencil eraser and she is finding every one of them. I caught her chasing one with foam coming out of her mouth a couple of weeks ago. I rushed her inside and rinsed her mouth out. She is just not learning the word "NO" when it comes to chasing frogs! How can we minimize the amount in the yard? |
