YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Raccoon Help / Suggestions? Well this morning about 7am I was looking out our garden room windows and I saw not one but two raccoons in our yard. One raccoon ambled by about 2 feet from my patio door. The other was walking on top of the fence. this is the first time I've seen them here although I know that there are plenty in our downtown area. Our garbage is kept in well sealed raccoon proof bins as is our neighbours -city issued containers designed to foil these critters. I've not heard of a deterrent for raccoons - perhaps some1 on YT has? I 'm worried for all of our dogs - threat of rabies - while the big dogs can probably take care of themselves - our Razzle would be at risk and the one most likely to go barking after a raccoon. If someone has any suggestions I'd be thankful

| I have heard that raccoons are really clean animals, so they don't like places that seem to be soiled.....perhaps you could use the trick we have for keeping opossums out of the trash? We squirt household ammonia on the bags....you could use rags soaked in ammonia and arrange them around the places you have seen the raccoons. Good luck!

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Oh yes for sure they are all up to date on their shots. But I've also heard that rabies shots do not guarantee 100% immunity particularly if your dog is bit by a rapid animal?
