Donating YT 500 Club Member | I don't know how much help I can be, but I'll try. Diet: Check out Yorkie Health & Diet - YorkieTalk.com Forums - Yorkshire Terrier Community for quality dog foods. Read the sticky about Dog Food (Kibble) Grading Chart. Get him on a good diet. I'm having good luck with Wellness brand for puppies. Have tried a couple of the others, but they didn't agree with her. Coby is young enough he may need kibble to be soaked. Forget buying brands just because they are on sale. He needs a quality diet. If it's on sale all the better. Buy small bags as possible so you can see how well he tolerates the brand & whether he likes it or not. Do a gradual switch on the brands by mixing both kinds & gradually increasing the new brand over a weeks time. Doing this will help prevent tummy upsets that can happen if you make a sudden food change. Housetraining: He's very young & it's going to take time & plenty of patience. When he's completed all his shots & it's safe to take him around other dogs, it's a terrific time to let the dogs teach him. Arrange some playdates with friends/family dogs if you can, or a park where dogs have been & he can smell it, or daycare. Roxy didn't learn to poop outside for quite a long time. It took two times at daycare but she figured it out. The other dogs taught her. There were good days & bad days during the whole process, so be patient. Take some of his poop outside & leave it where you want him to go. When he goes out, take him to that spot & let him sniff around. Just watch to make sure he doesn't eat it. Crying: He misses his mommy & littermates & a little young to be separated from them. Many people aren't aware of that when they buy these little guys. You'll need to be very patient. Roxy was already crate trained when I got her so it was not something I had to deal with. Hopefully some others here will be able to help you with this one. Good luck!

| When I got Laci I noticed the breeder had newspaper down instead of pee pee pads, ( probally because they were cheaper.) try using newspaper. I dont want to scare you but you have a LONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG road to potty training he probally has NO idea what grass is...pee pee pad training and outside training takes months and you have to be so consistant.. I got Laci in March it was way to cold and snow to deep here to train outside so I did pee pads first...then outside, I got up at 12-3-6am to take her out..its alot of work !!

| Not sure what I can add here, but thought I might try to help. Food: I would keep him on RC, it is a great brand of quality dog food which he is going to need, but with him being so young I would try to put some warm water or even mix a very tiny bit of soft dog food or even chicken baby food with it. But like I said RC is a good high quality food that he should do quite well on. Potty Training: It is going to take lots of time and patience. I would try to restrict him to a certain small area of the house by using an xpen or baby gate and closely monitor his eating and drinking, watch for wondering and sniffing and place him on the pads or take him out. Like I said though it is going to be time and patience and consistency. He will learn but this will take time. Crying: He is very young and does not know what to do without with mom and littermates- you could try to get a heartbeat toy at night or even a warm water bottle. You are just going to have to pay no attention to it or he'll catch on that it got your attention and that he gets his way- completely ignore him- EASIER SAID THEN DONE! He will get used to sleeping on his own slowly too. Good luck with everything, he is just like a newborn, it is going to take lots of time and patience and most of consistency!
