| I almost lost Miley today I had to rush Miley to the vet this morning. Hypoglycemia. I don't understand how this could of happened. I made sure to do everything right to prevent this but I guess it wasn't enough. I gave her Nutrical everyday, hand fed her to make sure she ate and drank.. Her temp was down to 99 when i got her there..she was going into shock. I got her up from her nap to take her out and new immediately what was wrong, so I gave her Nutrical and flew out the door. The vet gave her more nutrical and science diet soft food and we sat there for two hours to make sure she was ok. He also gave her antibiotics just in case something else was going on because while she was there she had diareah which she hadn't had before. She is so picky when it comes to food. I have to really encourage her to eat several times a day. I even get up through the night several times to try and encourage her to eat. I am so upset at myself for this happening. I really thought I was doing all I could to keep this from happening. I don't know what else to do to keep this from happening again. I have been going through so much here lately and Miley has been so helpful in cheering me up. I can't lose her. |

| I am so glad little Miley is doing better! Sometimes things happen and there is nothing you could have done to prevent it. Pat yourself on the back for being a great mommy!

| I am glad shes okay. The key to keep this from happening again is to keep her eating regularly. When My Jewels was tiny I would try to get her to eat every 3 -4 hrs. I even got up in the middle of the night because I gave her canned food and baby food. My Vet said once they get to 2 lbs they are on their way and you really dont have any more problems with hypogycemia. You just have to be dilligent and watchful untill then

| My oldest daughter is with a man that mentally abuses her and I've been trying like hell to get her to come home. She is such a beautiful wonderful person and she deserves so much. My youngest daughter had a miscarriage last week, and my oldest son got a girl pregnant and they aren't even a couple and neither are even sure he's the daddy. I can't take much more stress. I'm so worried about my kids. Miley has been such a god send to me. When I feel like my worries for my kids are overwhelming all I have to do is pick her up and smell her sweet puppy breath and I somehow have the strength to keep going. I don't know what to do to help my oldest daughter. |

Thats what has me so baffled. I do that. I get up every two hours to see if I can get her to eat and drink. Sometimes she eats and sometimes I can't get her to take a bite. But she has been eating and drinking and I gave her nutrical everyday. So I don't understand how this could of happened. | |

| Glad she is okay. What did the vet have to say about giving her the Nutrical everyday? It is my understanding that they should NOT get Nutrical on a regular basis, especially after they are 12 weeks old & over 2 pounds. I always have Nutrical on hand but only use it if I feel there is a need. A puppy that seems weak (and I am talking puppies I am raising under 12 weeks old), a dog that might be sick and not eating right, something like that. I would not just give it to a healthy weight puppy every day. Too much Nutrical can cause problems too. I have read it can cause diabetes -- nto sure but I have seen that posted. I give a disclaimer on that one as I don't have a good reference to pass on to you. But I would discuss the everyday use of Nurical and see if the vet sees a problem with that. I worry that the puppy's system may start to rely on that and not let its own system work as it should. Sometimes they seem to be picky eaters, but a Yorkie puppy really does not eat much. Just make sure what they do eat is a great quality food. They can prefer the Nutrical and then not want to eat the much less sugary food. Remember Nutrical is basically sugar.
