Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Affectionate? Eddie will cuddle up next to me when he wants to take a nap, and he'll hop on my lap when he wants to play, but when it comes to me approaching him and petting him, he usually backs away. It's like he's affectionate, but on his terms. Anyone else's Yorkie do that?

| Gus is very affectionate exspecially when it comes to me. The only time he will not stay is when the kids are running around,,,, he wants to play too. But the moment I get out a blanket,,,, he's right there ready to snuggle right with me.

| Twinkie is the same way.... it kinda hurts my feelings but I guess if that's just how some of them are then I shouldn't take it personally.

| I know how you feel. Samson loves to give kisses all of the time but doesn't really care to be held or petted that much. Sometimes he'll sit in my lap to chew on a bone or something but if I start to pet him he usually moves over like I'm bothering him. Even if he falls asleep on or by me if I start to pet him he'll usually move if I don't stop. What a brat!!!!! |

| The only time Kacee runs from me is when she's got a toy in her mouth and she thinks I'm going to get it and she's playing or she's got something she's not supposed to have. She's just one of those little dogs that will walk up to me all of the time and stand up wanting me to pick her up. She's my shadow. I believe it is a good practice to always call them to come to you.

| Yup, Gucci tose that also. She likes to be pet but when she allows it. Is she is playing , forget it. She will not allowed you to grab her and of course pet her. I agreed our yorkies are very smart and I thin they are playing with us. |

| Coco LOVES to cuddle and be pet..she's like a cat, she'll rub up on anyone to be pet, or jump on their laps. But occasionally, when I approach her to pet her, she thinks I'm playing catch me if you can with her..so she'll run away and then when SHE decides she wants to she willl come and cuddle, but I think those are her more than usual playful days.

| Toby is the same. I was so used to my little girl being a snuggler, that when I first brought Toby home -- I figured he would be the same. NOT!!! The first day, he was laying on my bed sleeping, looking so cute -- and I just leaned over to pet him. He got up... stomped to the end of the bed and plopped down -- with the attitude of "just leave me alone!" I was so hurt. But I've just accepted that, and when he wants to snuggle, he will. And he does seem to be better about it as he gets older. Don't get me wrong... he is very affectionate -- and gives me lots of loves, hugs and kisses. But it's only on his terms -- when he wants to. I definitely take advantage of those times! |

| I am lucky both of mine are always affectionate. Chachi sometimes thinks you are trying to play with him though.
