| morkie's fur colour! Hi! i am new to YorkieTalk. I may be getting a morkie puppy on the weekend and these are the colours they have - black, light brown, chocolate brown. I think all of them are amazing dogs but one problem, i know it is hard to tell because it is a hybrid but will the color fade to a blueish colour like yorkies? we used to have a grey dog and my family and i do not like to get similar looking pets as what we used to have. we like to have new things! the puppy was a shihpoo and she was brown when we got her and faded to grey. If anyone has a morkie in black, light brown or chocolate brown can you please show me a picture of your adult morkie? that would help so much! thank yoou! God Bless~ ps- i know the puppy will not look the same but i have an idea |

| Hello and welcome! I think it would be hard to predict what an adult morkies coat would look like they are all so different from the next one

| Welcome! My lil one is a morkie. She started off really dark gold and has become very blonde now. You can look at my album to see the before and after.

| Hi your very close to me, I am in Windsor!! I don't have a morkie but I would assume that the closer the coloring is to a yorkie the more chance it will fade to look more like a yorkie coat. I had a yorki-poo before and she had chocolate brown/light brown as a pup. And she got really light as an adult, I can share a picture just to show you an idea of what yours MAY look like, of course this is a different mix. now I miss her seeing her picture Last edited by yorkie_mama22; 06-04-2009 at 05:33 PM. |

| That is really a hard one to call. Here is a picture of my Morkie Beau at 12 weeks and then from the other day at 1 1/2. I would not have thought that he would lighten up as much as he has. His brother was more of a blonde color and he has stayed pretty much the same color with a little bit of white streaked through here and there. |

| morkie coloring my morkie is 5 months old now and has already started changing colors. when we first got her, she looked more like her yorkie mom. however, now she has really light-whitish gray hair on her face and head. she looks like an old grandpa. as everyone else says tho, it will depend on your pup. it's really hard to tell until it happens. |

YT 2000 Club Member | I would have to agree with what everyone else has already said.. I do believe if you choose any color but black or white the pup will probably go through a color change. I have a yorkie poodle mix and he was dark brown with light blonde mask around his face and by the time he was 4 months old he had gone compeletly blonde and has stayed that color since. My purebred toy poodle was black with a silver mask when we got her and she is now light cream with blue blended through out her coat with black, red, cream and silver ears. Its interesting to see them change and become different colors.... Im sure your new pup will be beautiful regardless! .. congrats and welcome to YT...

| Our morkie started off very dark just like a yorkie. She has really lightened up. She is not grey though. She is a nice blend of cream, brown/tan and black. Like a yorkie they go through an amazing transformation. I would pick by personality and if you like up or down ears. Down ears will be really folded and far to the sides of the head. I think body proportions are important too if you want a good looking dog when they mature. Shorter snout and slightly turned up, eyes closer to sides of the head, and legs and back generally forming a square. Our morkie has a slight underbite. As a baby she looked like a smiling Teddy bear. She still looks like she is smiling. Her coloring is still lightening on the top if her head as well.
