Our morkie started off very dark just like a yorkie. She has really lightened up. She is not grey though. She is a nice blend of cream, brown/tan and black. Like a yorkie they go through an amazing transformation. I would pick by personality and if you like up or down ears. Down ears will be really folded and far to the sides of the head. I think body proportions are important too if you want a good looking dog when they mature. Shorter snout and slightly turned up, eyes closer to sides of the head, and legs and back generally forming a square. Our morkie has a slight underbite. As a baby she looked like a smiling Teddy bear. She still looks like she is smiling. Her coloring is still lightening on the top if her head as well.
