| Ace needs playmate(s)? or Do I need to fill the void? Ok so, I posted last week, that I had to re-home my little Arizona because she had some serious behavioral issues. It was hard and has left a whole in my heart. So Im asking your opinions because part of me is afraid Id be making a decision influenced by my heartache for Arizona and Ace. I think that Ace (my other Yorkie) has been doing ok but I have a couple of doubts. He has been sleeping a bit more, ok alot more (bored maybe?). I play with him as often as I can which is alot but I do have to get things like housework and tending to the kids and hubby. The kids will play with him but not for long (most of the kids are pre-teens and teens so they are off doing that). He just seems bored. We were having a BBQ at my brothers house yesterday ( he has 3 dogs, 1 is a Yorkie) and Ace did great with them plus he had the greatest time ever!! He was very happy to see another dog! When we bought our puppies, I shameful admit there was not alot of planning. But I do know that it was never intended to have only one dog. Its why I got two!! My husband (who is awesome) say we should but should be done more careful this time with more research. I agree of course!! We are even thinking to get 2!!! I found this website www.kcyorkies.com and have been in contact with them about their puppies. They have been great answering my questions (tons of them, almost annoying too much). They have pics of all their parents on the site. Pictures of their sold puppies most of whom the keep in touch with ( the families I mean). They are reasonably priced and are only a hops, skip, and a jump away. What I would like to know if anybody has ever heard of them? Maybe you guys can check out the website and give your opinions (maybe see things I didnt) Thet have a few upcoming litters right now, that wont be ready until late August to come home, putting a depost down now I would have pick of the litter. Any advantage to pick of the litter? It looks like about 3 weeks after they are born I would go down there so the puppies can chose me . Then at 12 weeks they come home. Soooo, Im willing to hear ALL opinions and advice (wheher i should just bring home one puppy, what i should be looking for, about KC Yorkies (where Id be getting them, and any insight my fellow YTer's have for me.) I want to go about this correctly this time so any advice would be great! Thanks again guys! |

| I say two is better than one Go for it. I also think when you're starting out with a pup, you can turn them into whatever you want with proper training and socialization early enough! That's what is so great about having a puppy. If Ace does well with other dogs, I don't see a problem! I think it'd be awesome to have another. Personally, I can't imagine it just being Jackson. He would be SO bored. Even though he is MY only dog, I live with my mom and stepdad and they have a dog so he always has her company. When I bring him over to visit my dad, they have 2 dogs. He would just be so incredibly bored by himself lol. When I move out, I will for sure be getting another

| It sounds to me like your Ace misses his old pal and needs another (or 2)!I don't have any advice about the breeders, I don't know about any of them but good luck in finding the perfect additions to your family. |

♥Tiny Tia my Furbaby♥ Donating Member | I think having two is a great idea if it suits your lifestyle. I have an only child so to speak and it suits us.We wouldn't be able to travel to half the places we like to take her to with another in tow.Tia has lots of interaction with other dogs ,german shepherd, chi, poodle and another yorkie , just to name a few.You need to do what suits you and your family but they can live happily being the only furbaby in the house.

| Thank you guys! I would probably have a house full of Yorkies if i could but i think 2 or 3 is good. But I wonder, there have been so many views and so little reponses, if that means that ppl may disagree. Well, I welcome any and all replies!!. Hope to hear from you all. Thanks! |

| Good luck in your search for a playmate. I know that Molly would rather be an only child. She loves other dogs to play with when we are out walking, but is so jealous if i stroke them. Molly lived with a big dog before, who used to bully her, so i think she really enjoys one to one fuss and attention. |

As far as your question, yes 2 or even 3 is best IMO I don't know anything about the breeder your looking into, don't have time to look at the website at the moment got to get ready for work.

| Got a chance to look at their website. I did a search on their kennel name and phone number and didn't come up with anything bad through google. I found this post on here about them http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/bre...xperience.html Also, they are a member here with username kcyorkies but only have 3 posts so not really anything to find that way. LOL best of luck to you finding your new baby

| I think having two is wonderful and I would have more if my living situation permitted. I checked out the breeder's website. Not knowing anything personally about them, I didn't get a bad feeling at all from their website. They seem to have numerous references you could check with. My only comment is that their health guarantee requires you to have the puppy vet-checked within 48 hours of its arrival, and I think that is too short a time to find out if the dog has serious medical issues. They use the term "unacceptable health" and that is very vague. There is a one-year guarantee for "life threatening" conditions, but I don't know how they define "unacceptable health." I think two weeks is more reasonable than 48 hours. JMO.

I was thinking that 48 hours was the norm. I have been to alot sites and the most I have seen was 72 hours. I will re-read the health guarentee. Thanks!!! | |

| Hi! Roxy moved to TX with me from my parents house, which had 5 yorkies in it (including her)... She's now an only dog. I think she actually enjoys being the center of attention as an only dog, and I schedule more playdates to help fill the void. I can tell, though, after spending a week at my parents' house, that she's like "Ew! Get me outta here! These guys are driving me crazy!!" She's also less playful in the house, but it doesn't seem to bother her. If she's been really sluggish, I take her to the dog park- I usually go to Millie Bush out there on Highway 6 and Westheimer. I've seen other yorkies pretty much every time I'm out there! |
