Go for it. I also think when you're starting out with a pup, you can turn them into whatever you want with proper training and socialization early enough! That's what is so great about having a puppy. If Ace does well with other dogs, I don't see a problem! I think it'd be awesome to have another.
Personally, I can't imagine it just being Jackson. He would be SO bored. Even though he is MY only dog, I live with my mom and stepdad and they have a dog so he always has her company. When I bring him over to visit my dad, they have 2 dogs. He would just be so incredibly bored by himself lol. When I move out, I will for sure be getting another
